SENATOR Sonny Angara has called on the Filipino youth to be “climate warriors” even as he urged the entire nation to participate in the “Earth Hour” to be held on March 25 and appealed for a wide unity in protecting and saving the planet from environment plunderers.
Earth Hour is an annual global environmental event aimed at encouraging individuals, communities, households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the last Saturday of March, as a symbol of their commitment to the planet.
“Earth Hour is more than just how much energy is saved when we switch off our lights for one hour. It is about inspiring people to unite and against the destruction of the environment and climate change.

And they should use this knowledge in convincing the government, policymakers, legislators and nongovernment organizations to come up with measures that will address climate change and save and protect mother nature,” he said.

The annual Phi Alpha Theta (PAT) initiation brunch is one of the most exciting events to take place every year. It took place on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia and it was nice to see familiar faces, while meeting the new members of the organization. Today I am honored to be standing here presenting the Conn Smythe trophy to my friend Duncan Keith. The Conn Smythe is awarded to the most valuable player during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I first heard of this tremendous defensemen back in the 2009-10 season where he helped prevail the Chicago Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup victory since 1961. It seems like Duncan never has a bad season and makes very few mistakes on the ice. The amount of time he puts into this game really shows his dedication and love for hockey.
Though we shouldn 't forget the main issue, these boys are a menace to the peaceful vibe overall. Yes that may seem harsh to say, but there are ways to celebrated MLK day. Coco Brown, Pug 's mom, described bike riding as a wau to keep the delinquents off streets even if it 's just for a day. Still, dirt bikes and atv 's do not belong on public roads. Especially if there are other civilians driving on the same road .

“Why Bother” Michael Pollan’s essay “Why Bother” claims both sides of the argument of why people should take action to change their daily lives that will help the environment or if it is a wasted effort to try to change the things that have been done. Pollan repeatedly asks the reader a specific question throughout the essay: Why bother? Why bother slowing down global warming? Why bother walking to and from to make one’s self carbon footprint better? He asks these questions over and over to make the reader engage and think about the environment.
Actor Joel Edgerton has been making the acting rounds for quite some time - so if you feel as though you've seen him in a bunch of other films throughout the years, you're not mistaken. Sci-fi junkies will likely pick him out as the guy that played a young Owen Lars in the Star Wars prequels, while more recent moviegoers will likely recognize him from the Biblical drama, Exodus: Gods and Kings. Undeniably, the fueled-up Joel Edgerton stock locomotive is gaining steam - and doing so with great haste. While he's noticeably devoted to enhancing his acting career, he's now officially taking the semi--risky leap behind the camera for the very first time, as well - serving as writer, director, and producer on-board his new film, The Gift. That's right, dear reader, it would appear Mr. Edgerton is a true jack-of-all-trades.
*ATTENTION – GETTER : Imagine you are a small child lying on the dirt road of Calcutta, India. You are severely dehydrated because no one you ask will offer you some of their water. You are weak because you have not eaten for days. You are painfully coughing from your tuberculosis.
In the early 2000 Al Gore once said, “The planet is in distress and all the attention is on Paris Hilton.” In the same theme, Michael Pollan writes, “Why Bother?”, an article from The New York Times Magazine published in 2008 telling Americans they are too consumed with themselves and maintain a “cheap-energy mind”. And here, in 2016 climate change is seriously happening and the nation is still not addressing the gravity of the issue and why we should indeed bother to make changes. It is time that this nation discerns that climate change is real and it is happening as we speak. Climate change is a threat to each and every one of us and imperative to the survival of life on this planet.
Have you heard of the quote “The future rewards those who press on. I don’t have time to feel sorry for myself. I don’t have time to complain. I’m going to press on”? Most would have not, but you most definitely heard of the name Barack Obama.

In recent years, the topic of saving the Earth from Humans has shown itself in many conversations amongst the people of the public. Saving the World will be an issue we must solve in the near future because we are causing a mass extinction for animals, and we are harming and killing humans, but we can resolve it by using technology to reduce global warming and setting aside reserves. The most important thing humans must do in regards to this topic is begin to educate themselves and others on how drastic we must be in regards to it. The first major issue that must be made clear is the great peril animals are in, and what this means for the planet and humans.
Sustainability: If you take a look around at what’s really happening in our world, there’s an inescapable pattern of ‘what’s going on is simply unsustainable’ and in other words, it can’t go on for much longer. Sustainability is to “meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. As cities began to grow with the population increase, the need for a sustainable development became more apparent as resources began to diminish in quantity and value. Left to it’s own devices, the Earth is a sustainable system.
