Noise Pollution is now emerging as a major national and international problem. It is one of the components of pollution which contributes to a general deterioration of environmental quality. Besides, noise pollution effects the physical and mental health of human beings and reduces their work efficiency and enjoyment of life at home. Human ear is quite is sturdy to stand a wide range of sound energy, hearing became painful or damage the ear if the amount of sound energy reaches 10-14 times more than that of the minimum audible energy.
The term “Noise” is derived from a latin word “Navsea” which means unwanted sound, unexpected sound, unpleasant sound or sound that is loud. Physically there is no distinction between sound and noise.

The proper functioning of industries are taken place only with some sort of machineries and equipments. Majority of the machineries produce noise pollution. The siren of the industries is also a kind of disturbance.
Construction Sector
While walking through our land, we can see that in each and every place there are some sort of constructional activities are taking place. We cannot apart the constructional activities since we are looking for development. Construction of flyovers, bridges, shopping malls, multi storyed apartments and excavation work can cause a larger quantity of noise pollution. Constructional sites may produce unbearable sound which definitely hurt human ears. The machines associated with construction such as cement mixtures, boring, drilling, hammering and other work processes are very much irritating to us.
