We could arrange with Easter seals a fundraiser. They have different ways to give, you can “donate online on their website, through tributes and memorials, matching gifts, or planned giving.”(Ways To Give) We could come up with our own fundraisers. For example, we could do a bake sale, car wash, a talent show, we could do a diner for parents and have a day care. With the supplies, we could have a competition between classes. Whoever brings the most, wins a dress down day, or pie a teacher of the choice. We can make sure no one throws away their plastic bottle caps. Each fund can change a person’s life. Volunteering gives you experience, memories, and the gift of joy. Opportunities for volunteers include “classroom assistants, office assistants, honey-do assistants, or special event/fundraisers.”(Volunteer) Classroom assistants mean they work with the children. Office assistants mean they work with “fundraisers and clerical duties.” (Volunteer) “Honey-Do” assistants help anywhere that needs it. (Volunteer) Special events/fundraisers help “fundraisers throughout the year.” (Volunteer) For volunteering, we could go as a class or school and go help Easter seals with sorting, putting stuff up, help with the kids, or anything they need help with. How to become a volunteer is you go on to the website and click on get involved and then click volunteer and you will sign up through
When I was a freshman, I went to was an event called Winter Rage at Clackamas High School. It was a day where the school collected donations of food, clothes, toys, and basic items for families in need around the community. The day of the event required hours of set-up and packaging. When families arrived, it was very heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces as they received enough food and warm clothes for the winter season. I was in charge of handing out toys and Christmas gifts to children and families.
For the past two years, I have been involved in the Carmax Cares community service month. We provided assistance to the Foster Care Support Foundation in Roswell, Georgia. This organization sends out gently worn closes, shoes and other necessities to support foster care providers in the state of Georgia. We packaged items to be sent out and organized their warehouse inventory. On campus I am an active member of SABAC as well as the Georgia Club.
In most community centers they usually take donations for items needed for the organization or do some type of fundraiser that would help bring in a profit. Reference:
At the time, individual back-to-school events were providing supplies for students every year but the lack of resources and planning were creating difficulties for the organizers. Noticing this fact, a catholic charity worker came up with the idea to pull together all the resources each individual organizers had and buy supplies in bulk to increase efficiency. With the belief that education is the key solution to ending the poverty cycle, the organizers eventually opened their first event to the public in 2005. The event is privately funded by sponsorship, grants from foundations and private donations. It is also entirely run by volunteers and has served 100,000 students since the first event.
This fundraiser is simple, inexpensive, and effective; anyone can do
Our community has always played a major part in the athletic depart of our school. Every year they hold a pie auction, where pies can go for up to $700. A community tradition that is not associated with the school is the County Fair. It is always more of a social gathering than anything else. People will always asking “if you have been to get a greasy fair burger”.
Spirit Club helps organize and start fundraisers for school and make posters for any events that are happening. I’m also in Student Council and what we do is
Of my many volunteer and paid extra-curricular activities, the most important to me is the National Art Honor Society, which extends artistic activities to my community. We organize two school events: the Festival of Trees and the Talent Competition. The Festival of Trees is an event when every school club can choose to donate and decorate a tree that we set up. All of the money raised goes to an organization of our choice. For the last 4 years, we have donated to Street Grace, which benefits the fight against human trafficking, especially in the Metro Atlanta area.
The activities and events we host are always very fun and exciting. I have been a volunteer since my freshman year of high school, which is when they allow you to be a volunteer. Before that you may participate in the activities. I feel that this volunteer project does benefit both me and the recipients, because I get to experience such an amazing act of kindness that changes a person 's life forever. It also benefits the recipients, because they get to have their lives changed forever.
In addition, I would ask teachers to participate in a door decorating competition to increase awareness of disabilities. To conclude, I would organize a pep rally to recognize the diverse special needs of our school population. Participants of the pep rally would include guest speakers and winners of the door decorating contest. This endeavor would broaden the perspective of fellow wolverines and others in the community, so they develop greater understanding for those with diverse
Often times fundraising starts out strong in the fall, but then declines in the spring. To prevent this, I hope to revitalize fundraising in the spring by having incentives for donating. For example, if you raise $50, you can receive a hand written letter from your state’s Governor. These incentives will spark fundraising in the spring. Through new fundraising efforts, I know that we can surpass previous fundraising records and have the most successful year
Within all these clubs we volunteer in the community throughout the years, like the Chapman Township Haunted House we do for the community every year. In the summer I also participate in the Saint Joe’s Festival, which is held by the church I’m a member of. I usually help run the game stations.
You could donate money to the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and many other things. You could join Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts and do things with
My ideas for our chapter service projects are to organize a clothing swap and donation drive, pen pal with the fourth graders, clean the community, chose an organization that helps others out and donate, promote health and fitness in the community, visit a retirement home, and make hygiene kits for a homeless shelter. My personal service project is to ask for money, food and clothing donations for my birthday to donate them and volunteer at the public library to read to kids. My first idea for our chapter service project is to organize a community clothing swap and donation drive. As time goes by, clothes begin to go out of style and are quickly forgotten. If you look at your closet some immediate thoughts might be that you have nothing to wear as is usual for girls.
Not only do these clubs recognize academic excellence, they also provide many opportunities for community service. Blood drives, food drives and Operation Christmas Child are only a few of the projects that we participate in throughout the year. I am
