EDC model ensures that silence is not a goal of classroom management yet having students engaged but not disrupted in the curriculum is a goal. In order to achieve this goal, teachers can use many ways that help them in organizing the students in their classroom like the seating chart. The seating charts are the best preventive measures which its main purpose to let a talkative student sit next to a shy student in order to decrease and limit the possible interruptions. Well, there are different types of seating charts including student choice, alphabetical or teacher placed. In order to achieve this goal each teacher have to change the structure and arrangement of his/her pupils’ seats based on their student’s needs and abilities because they should take into consideration that in each class there are variety of students with different abilities and multiple intelligences. Teachers can form a friendly classroom environment by rearranging the desks in the room in different ways to keep the class motivated. EDC model suggests three different classroom desk arrangement designs that assist in the function of the class. a) Traditional classroom arrangement where the desks are in straight rows facing the front of the classroom. This type of arrangement can be helpful during lecturing where all the students are facing the teacher and can see the blackboard, overhead projector, screen and other instructional aids. This can be challenging when teachers need to write something on the board. For this reason, they have to try standing more to the side of the board, instead of directly in front of it, to keep an eye on at least part of the class. Or, they can write a line, then turn around quickly to face the class, and discuss what they just wrote before continuing. Chapter 6: Overlapping If two situations happen at the same time, teachers should know how to deal accurately with them using overlapping methods.
