Edgar Allen Poe would write the way he spent most of his life, with his heart on his sleeve. Preaching his opinion and taking no prisoners along the way. By doing this, he created a lot of enemies. But in the end, became one of the world’s most beloved writers. He would take out the anger and angst of his past and present and make it into stories and poems. He would kill characters that resembled his adopted father John Allan in stories such as The Cask of Amontillado, or get out his unhappiness and depression after the death of his wife in poems like The Raven. Quotes from these stories show this, such as “Is there balm in Gilead?” To this, the devil-like Raven promptly replied afterwards with his trademark saying, “Nevermore.” After that,
