He was adopted by John and Frances Allan after his parents; Elizabeth Arnold Poe and David Poe were deceased. The Allans baptized him as Edgar Allan Poe on January 7, 1812. In 1814, he begun school, and in 1815 the Allans leave Richmond and move to England.
