Education Reform Learning is a permanent behavior that one achieves through experience. Education is one of the most important skills that anyone can hone by having the opportunity to attend school. However, the current education system seems to be lacking some of the most fundamental parts of learning for its students. Some of the fundamentals that are absent from education are mainly the appeal as to why it is there to begin with. Initially, learning seemed to be introduced to the young as fun, however, the older they get, education doesn’t seem to carry that same message. This should have not been the end goal for education. Education should have been a place where students are able to be prepared for the big, outside world without sugar coating. Who would send their own child to school, just to get them babied with delusions? To narrow down, American education can do much better in being able to produce a much higher quality education for their students. It shouldn’t be too big of a hassle to accomplish if America really cared for its students and really cared for their well being. Failing its own students would be failing its own future generations. In another perspective, there will be less competent individuals roaming about society and are just expected to be productive. What motivates people to continue to attend school is having the will to go. From an early age, children would be introduced to small games for learning activities in order for them to be more interesting, so what happened? Even the older kids would still like to have similar activities again and they are still kids. Small activities are bound to produce sufficient effort from the student for them to be able to coexist with one another, which will allow them to have social interaction, such as ones that they’ll have outside of school. The schooling system should not think that these types of activities are a waste of time, however something worth investing in. Instead of treating their pupils as mindless workers, they should provide the time to allow them to grow their individuality. By being able to communicate with one another, this will open doors for everyone. As in the text of The Need to Be Whole: Patriotism and the History of Prejudice, “Like a living, functioning household, a functioning community enables its members to help one another” (4). These “foolish” activities would be something that would prove beneficial for the students as they will not be situated in just a single seat for the entire day.
