Why Education?
On an average, the first 20 years of one’s life time is dedicated for education. The education can either be formal or informal. It ideally teaches how to live life better. Education can help us improve our quality of life. When stop learning, there is no fun. When we keep learning, we keep our lives lively.
Further whatever we study, there is something behind. The reason behind studying or learning something is called as Core. It is something useful for life The core can be of two types. First is the skill and second is the value.
Core as a Skill: We learn geometry and trigonometry in Mathematics. Children

Is it useful for us? Have we learnt the skill of condensing the content? Are we still writing till the last minute of our exams? In précis writing, the art of condensing was not taught or not learnt. Similarly there is a skill behind hints developing, using prepositions etc.
Core as a value: We have learnt “Asoka has planted trees on the two sides of the road” in History. Does it have any relevance to our present day life? Yes, we talk about global warming, air pollution, preserving forests etc. There is a value behind what Asoka did. It is to go green.
Similarly there are many values and skills behind whatever we study in educational institutions. Most of the time, it is not obviously told. However finding the core behind studies will make people understand the purpose of education.
How to make Studies an interesting one?
Simply ask questions to learn. Generally in books, only certain information is given. If you want to learn about something completely, you may ask questions to learn. For instance, let us take the concept of Indian Nation.
The following questions can be asked to learn the concept completely. They are relevant Questions starting with WH words.
• What is India?
• When was the concept ‘India’
During the beginning of modern Europe, there were conflicting views on the proper way to view children. Previously in history, the infant mortality rate was very high, so kids were treated more like adults and were often neglected because odds were they would die. There was a resounding view that kids should be treated harshly in order to become strong. Then in the seventeenth century, the idea of being tender and gentle to your kids was introduced. The way in children were brought up was influenced by assumptions made on both old and new schools of thought.
Curiosity helps to learn more because always asking questions will make a person smarter. One of the smartest people ever, Albert Einstein said “I have no special talents, I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein wasn’t born a superbaby, but he always wanted to know more and he always asked questions. In the book The Fourteenth Goldfish, Grandpa told Ellie “scientists never give up. They keep trying because they believe in the possible".
Abused children often have trouble having their allegations collaborated as legal and social service investigations of abuse allegations contribute to inaccurate eyewitness accounts and false memories that make it difficult for the legal system to protect these vulnerable children (Goodman, et al., 2001). Clinicians find it hard to classify abused from nonabused children due to a lack of a psychological profile for abused children (Kendall-Tackett, Williams, & Finkelhor, 1993). When there are no other witnesses to corroborate children’s accounts, investigators often employ suggestive interviewing techniques that sometimes shape children’s false memories that build the investigators’ reports (Krackow & Lynn, 2003). Some research has found that nonabused children
Even though education is valuable to students, the society also desires it to make it safer and healthier. In my opinion, education will be beneficial to those who do their very best in their high school and college years. Additional education will affect a higher possibility of an optimistic importance in a student’s life and society, as
Common core is a set of standards for English and math to teach kids k-12 “Nationwide 43 states and the district of Columbia have adopted the common core standards” -Tully. Many people oppose the standards and so do I “Republicans showed the highest opposition 76% with 38% of democrats says they oppose the standards.” -Osborne. Common core should be discontinued because instead of teaching the course, it teaches the test, there is less flexibility for teachers to adapt to how the students need to be taught, and it does not prepare them for college. If the common core standards are implemented some states will have to take a step back because their standards are actually better than the common core standards.
Education leads to individual success and empowerment. Every person has a different way of teaching, but in the end, the teaching method should
India, one of the many colonies England controlled in the past was the “Jewel in the Crown” of the British Empire. Although in the beginning, it was controlled by the British East India Company as a source of cotton, tea, and indigo. The British had indirect control of India until the Sepoy Rebellion in 1857. Although Britain created India’s government and military, improved trade, protected land, claimed to improve education, and increased minority safety, however the government and military controlled and excluded Indians, trade only benefitted the British, statistics show education was better after Indian Independence, valuable land was degraded and minorities still felt fear and insecurity.
Education is the core of life. Ever since the establishment of public schoolings it became the social norm for children and older to seek education. The reason varies. Although, an education means to gain insightful experiences or to either gain or take guidance, there are more than just two meanings. From the essays examined: “Frank Carothers and Ted Erlandson, Loyola University”, “Suddenly I Felt Really Strange” both by Mike Rose, and “Five Ways to Wisdom” by Otto Friedrich, which shares different perspective of education and the means to be an educated person.
This is what being a student is, learning or constantly wanting to learn different things in your life (Caroline Myss). As once said by Martha Graham, “There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.” Every experience is a learning experience and you gain something from it whether its
The significance of education cannot be stated enough, which is an investment to a better future. Getting an education is one of the most powerful things a person can ever obtain. It is crucial to the overall development of the individual and the society as a whole. When individuals do not have the option of getting an education due to the cost of the schools as well as the lack of schools itself. For those living in poverty it can be difficult to earn the same amount of education as other people who are considered middle or high class.
Education shapes the mind and opens its doors to the world and all of its influence. A lot of people view as education being a good thing while others say that it is a curse disguised as a blessing. A quote from the excerpt Learning to Read and Write by Frederick Douglass reads, “As I writhed under it, I would at times feel that learning to read had been a curse rather than a blessing. It had given me a view of my wretched condition, without the remedy. It opened my eyes to the horrible pit, but to no ladder upon which to get out.”
Within this theoretical discussion I will address how current principles of early years’ pedagogy have been affected by the work of pioneers of early years’ education. Modern day Early Years Education has been hugely influenced and built upon the ideas and theories of historic and current pioneers and legislation. The statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage is a legal document that sets out the standards required for the development, care and learning of children aged birth to 5 years. The EYFS must be followed by all schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers. Within the EYFS it is stated that “Every Child deserves the best possible start in life and support that enables them to fulfil their potential” and therefore
Although it is important to learn new things, the new material learned is not as important as the process of learning itself. In the process of learning, one’s mind is transformed and engaged. They will be introduced to new things and their ideas and thinking will be changed forever. When learning new things, seeing the value of things become
It helps a person to show their best by their mind and spirit. It gives you a lot of knowledge in all the fields. Education plays an important role in the personal growth. The more you have knowledge the more you grow and me able to face the difficult world. Being educated and achieving degrees help you to be prepared in being a part of the reputed organizations, companies and institutions.
The purpose of education is to create the “catalyst”, - the interest, the imagination, the self-confidence, the enthusiasm for further knowledge that helps a person grow beyond what they believe they can be. Education should help develop skills and knowledge, so students can be productive members of society. The more knowledge you have, the more opportunities you have in life. I think back to my childhood and the teachers that made an impact in my life. I want to be that catalyst for students.
