A book and a movie can be both the same and different. In The Outsiders there are many similarities and differences with the book and movie. They were the same because Johnny kills a man, they cut their, there was the movie scene, and Johnny and Ponyboy went to the church. Some of the differences is when Darry slaps Ponyboy but in the movie he pushes him, Johnny doesn't bring a lot of food in the book but does in the movie he does, when Johnny killed the man it was more described but it wasn't in the movie, and Johnny says he wants to kill himself in the movie. In The Outsiders one of the themes is “friendship”
In the 1977 novel, Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison. Morrison highlights the running theme of love. The theme of love is present in every relationship in the novel and is defined different from character to character. The women display love as a way of obsession whether it is over their spouses or over materialistic possessions. The men, however; define it differently, many are distant and secluded when it comes to expressing affection and love. This underlying theme significantly contributes to the overall storyline providing a unique characterization to each character, allowing the reader to really experience the character’s emotional development through the novel. The theme of love can be identified from the very beginning of the novel.
An important theme I think in the escape is trust. I think trust is an important theme in this book because, Paul and Rosie trusted Charles Henderson that he will keep them safe and help them reach England. Paul and Rosie had never seen Charles Henderson before but, only heard about him from their dad. If it was the German agent trying to be Charles Henderson then Paul or neither Rosie would have known. This shows the trust between the characters in the book, meaning that Paul and Rosie could have been with someone who they have never seen in their lives before, but since they have heard good things about Charles Henderson that’s why they trust him.
An additional theme that is presented in the book is how courage can help people face fears. People see this when Brian is on a plane and his pilot has a heart attack (page 26). Brian then has to fly the plane but he is frightened to do it. Brian has never flown a plane before, so he is petrified to do it. He is very courageous to face his fear of flying a plane. This shows how brave he is. Brian still ends up crashing the plane, but his courage came through and he tries to do everything he can to survive and fly the plane. Another example is when the book states “But the fear moved then, moved away, and Brian knew the wolf for what it was - another part of the woods…”(page 121). This shows the theme because Brian is scared of the wolf. His fear of the wolf goes away because he thinks of it as another part of the woods. He starts to relax and goes up close to the wolf; the wolf lets him come close which made Brian realize that his fear was silly. Most people can not face their fears like Brian does a couple times. He chose to have courage and not be scared or run away.
Theme holds a story together and provides the iconic pieces of literature we see today. In Rick Riordan 's The Lightning Thief, we see three major themes that all come together in order to make the story. The fight against good and evil is a classic theme that develops the plot in a novel. Friendship is the underlying theme in which nobody reall knows is there, however, it has a huge effect. Finally betrayal, the cunning theme that introduces irony and tragedy in a writing to make it much more interesting. The use of theme in The Lightning Thief and every other pieces of writing or novel is imperative in order to create great

What are the various themes that you can identify in the novel? Choose two and explain.
Themes in a story help to describe what the book is about. It does this in the book Night by helping describe what World War 2 was like for the Jews. It also helps to see what the people in the camps went through. My two themes from night are imprisonment and survival. The first one I will talk about is imprisonment, then i’ll talk about survival.
The theme is the moral or lesson of the story. Such an empowering and eye opening story like Ruby Bridges, can have multiple themes. Especially when this story is real and doesn't specify what you should learn from the story. And with these type of stories, everyone learns something different. But I believe that one of the many themes of Ruby Bridges is---you shouldn’t judge someone based on their skin tone. As many of the protesters did, despite Ruby’s age and mentality.
In addition, a theme in a story or narrative is a mood set throughout the story. This is a significant role since a theme in a story is what sets the story is undergoing. In the story “Waters of Babylon” we could say we came across various themes. One of the themes we noticed was the Advancement of Exploration. In the story, it states “Forbidden to go east, but I have gone, forbidden to go on the enormous river, but I am there. "This clearly states that one of the themes we confront in the story is when John makes the decision to explore the world around him as he believes that 's exploring the world is the only way he can better himself although traveling comes with unbelievable dangers. Another theme, we realize in the story is how John becomes more self-possessed as the story is ongoing. In the text, it states “At first I was afraid to approach him-then the fear left me.” Based
Quote: “We are like you; the thought pressed into his mind. We did not mean to murder, and when we understood, we never came again. We thought we were the only thinking beings in the universe… (248)”
The book has several themes, but the theme of perseverance is the most dominant. After Brian’s plane crashes, he is stranded, alone, hungry, and afraid, but he never gives up. He keeps going, doing whatever it takes to survive.
In the movie A River Runs Through It the theme is Rebellion. Rebellion plays a big part in the movie. Theme is the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person's thoughts, or an exhibition; a topic. The three point are; Paul refused to eat his oats,Paul went fly fishing and caught a big fish that dragged him instead of just letting go of the pole, and finally when Jessie’s brother came into town and he was rebelling against Norman when he became drunk. Rebellion plays a big part in the movie.
The main theme that is recurring throughout the entire novel is coming of age. Throughout the novel Charlie questions what does it mean to be a man. Charlie has three man men in his life he can look up to his brother, father, and Bill. Most of the women in his life have been abused by men. His sister was hit by her boyfriend. Charlie also see’s his grandfather use to hit his mother and his aunt Helen. Charlie comes across this deep feeling of aggression he has that he tries to hide. Charlie has a hard time considering himself as a man after his aunt took advantage of him. Charlie has a hard time throughout the novel to find growth and adulthood in the
