In the contemporary smartphone, internet, and infinite content society, there are no figures that present themselves in the same way Joseph Pulitzer, William Randolph Hearst, and Edward R. Murrow did in their respective time periods. The media market is far too diverse to support a system where there is only one source of news as was the case in the past. The internet provides a platform for ranges of voices that would not be heard in the age dominated by radio and television.
