INTRODUCTION
Poverty reduction is one of the most key aims that almost countries want to achieve. In 2000, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which provide the programs for developing human was adopted by global leaders, including South Africa. However, the results reached in South Africa were not good as expected. Based on the statistical report of DEA in 2011, South Africa has faced with a number of dangers such as scarce water resources, high level of poverty, diseases, low economic growth… One of the most important reasons that cause these problems is climate change. And the sector easily affected by changing in environment was agriculture, especially farming.
Following the status quo, the paper considered the relationship between climate change and poor farming households in South Africa.

Besides that, as the results in Table 1, the climate and soil variables are generally significant. Furthermore, the non-linear relationship between climate and net farming revenue is showed by the significant linear and quadratic coefficients of the climate variables. Precipitation and temperature in summer and winter also have an effect on net revenue. While there is the “U-shaped” relationship in precipitation, the relationship between temperature in summer and net revenue is not significant. However, it is shows that the “U-shaped” relationship for livestock farmers and “hill-shaped” relationship for crop farmers between temperature in winter and net revenue. Especially, the results performed in Panel B are interested. Compared to Panel A, the coefficients in Panel B are smaller. It means that the difference characteristics of the households have the effect on net revenue and help to diminishing the damages of climate
