Title: Environmental pollution and their effects on human
Introduction
Environment pollution is a worldwide problem and its potential to influence the health of human populations is great (Fereidoun et al, 2007; Progressive Insurance, 2005.). the way I understand it is the process of making land, water, air or other parts of the environment dirty and unsafe or to use. This can be done through the introduction of pollutant into a natural environment, but the pollutant doesn 't need to be noticeable. Pollution reaches its most serious proportions in the densely settled urban-industrial centers of the more developed countries (Kromm,1973).most of urban area perform more pollution by having more industries which release carbon dioxide which cause air pollution and also the vehicle contribute to air pollution. Environmental pollution is tangled with the unsustainable anthropogenic activities, resulting substantial public health problems. (Khan, 2004). My research is all about the effects of environment pollution in the perspective of air pollution, water and land/soil waste pollution on human by diseases and problems, animals and trees/ plants. Water pollution is the contamination of natural water bodies by chemical, physical, radioactive or pathogenic microbial substances. Those polluted water causes health hazard and death of human being, aquatic life and also disturbs the production of different crops.
Air pollution is caused by the emission of toxic gases from
More importantly there are many health risks in polluted cities. One of the cons of this article is that the author took the number 1 most polluted city and state in America so while the number could be attributed to pre-conceived notions or ideas it would make the theory one-sided. The least polluted state would have not been a great representation either but some city or state right in the middle of the spectrum. Another con is the air pollution in a reason for cancer and other diseases. I would have to question that because of seasonal changes and other environments as far as oceans, lakes that may carry viruses as well.
With our population increasing rapidly, pollution is a problem of increasing proportions (Spellman, F., 1999). The huge increase in size of the human population have resulted in a substantial degradation of environmental conditions (Birdsall, N., 2003). Water Pollution. According to the Population Institute, one of the consequences of overpopulation is the pressure that is put on available water resources in order to serve a growing population. Approximately 50% of the worlds’ population will be living in regions around the globe that are considered “water stressed”, either due to lack of it, or poor quality, by the year 2030 (compared to 15% currently).
Water is a critical source used all around the world to keep our way of life flowing. The use of water goes from regular house needs to creating energy in many ways. Around the world drinkable water starting to run low and the water stored is being contaminated by pollutants causing sickness and death. Countries are going through droughts which affects the water supply needed to maintain irrigation, and public supply. Water pollution is defined as the presence in groundwater of toxic chemicals and biological agents that exceed what is naturally found in the water and may pose a threat to human health and/or the environment.
And there is a serious question that needs to be addressed. What effects has pollution had on our society and what is being done to prevent it from spreading further? Who? There are many people and things that are involved in the problem of pollution.
Alex Grommesh Ms. Heise/Ms. Keel English 2 16 March 2018 The Negative Effects of Water Pollution The majority of all marine ships dispose of their waste by throwing it into the sea (Wroble 41). If they are caught doing this they can be charged for littering and be given anywhere between a three hundred to a two thousand dollar fine (this fine can be more or less depending on where it occurred). Furthermore, if what is being dumped is considered hazardous to the environment a jail sentence can be given to the perpetrator (“
There are several factors that causes the water pollution such as the non-point source, point source, rubbish dumping, industrial waste, and ballast water tank. Non-point source is the waste that come from many source and goes to the one point that is the water channel, the waste mostly come from the place where human population are high such as suburban development, rural home and city streets. There were also waste that come from the forestry and cropland
Air pollution is the result of the emission of chemicals, particulate matter, and biologic material into the atmosphere then caused adverse effect on environment and health. Major air pollutants that threatening human health are carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, ozone, chemical vapors, and particulate matter. Air pollution is an important risk factor for cardiovascular health, therefore In this review article, we discuss air-polluted particle and the adverse effects of them on cardiovascular disease. Introduction: With advances in technology, air pollution has also increased. Air pollution caused mortality and cardiovascular disease in population [1-3].
Pollution has been an ongoing problem on Earth for thousands of years. Many factors can be the cause of pollution and many of these factors could be addressed to be solved. Even though there have been many attempts to fix the problem of pollution, few have been successful. Pollution caused by urbanization and industrialization has a great effect in many cities around the world. One big problem because of pollution would be disease.
There are many problems that society faces and one problem, such as air pollution threatens societies and entire world. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossils fuels and manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and its consequences that the world must face.
CHAPTER 1 1. INTRODUCTION The air we respire contains mixture of natural and man-made chemical, physical and biological elements that modifies ambient air quality. Among all air pollutants, the most threatening for human health include particulate matter and gaseous pollutants such as carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide (WHO). The movement of people into urban areas and the growth of industry within these areas has carried more people into contact with air pollution than any other time in recent memory.
Water pollution is a serious issue as not only is water the most precious natural resource, but all sources of water support life that is very necessary for the survival of the planet. Water pollution destroys life and ecology and such damage is irreparable. Those who are still not serious about water pollution must also remember that the pollutants present in water not only destroy the life in the rivers and oceans, but also affect our food chain. Many people have the wrong notion that since they are not disposing the pollutants in the water they are not to blame. These people forget that 70% of the earth is covered by water, and any activity on the land can wash to the seas and oceans.
• Pollution: Pollution of air, water and soil require millions of years to recoup. Industry and motor vehicles exhaust are the number one pollutants. Heavy Metals, nitrates and plastic are toxins for pollution. While water pollution is caused by oil spill, acid rain, urban runoff; air pollution is caused by various gases and toxins
Pollution is a big problem around the world that affects at least a thousand of animals, marine life and also causes global warming. Pollution can cause death or serious problems and diseases. A article Bios Urn states that “8.9 million people are killed a year from pollution”. It also says that 200 million people suffer from pollution. This shows why pollution is a really big problem.
LITERATURE REVIEW What is water pollution? As the country is becoming more and more populated, the demands for social services have increased significantly. This has led to an increase of the pollution in many developing towns such as Ga-kgapane. The most disturbing and problematic forms of pollution in Ga-kgapane is the pollution of the natural streams. Water pollution is when there is a build of one or more substances in water to such an extent that it causes problems for animals or plants.
The air we are recently inhaling contains different elements which affect our health as a results of air pollution which is the release of pollutants into the air that are detrimental to humans and the whole planet, with this, do we expect our future generation to suffer the consequences of what we have caused? In the course of recent years, the U.S. Congress has passed four acts identifying with clean air. The 1970 demonstration set out a far reaching get ready for government state organization to require all ranges in the nation to meet National Ambient Air Quality Standards. In 1977, the demonstration was altered and extended, both to address huge numbers of the issues experienced in the 1970 demonstration and to reorient the law to constrain altogether outflows of
