Believe it or not, social media has not just caused it, but it has also recommended it. Right now there are over 240 websites about how to kill yourself (Am J Public Health), which in my opinion is shocking, because why on Earth would anyone ever want to create or use a website like that. No way should someone ever suggest suicide more so encourage it to the world’s youth. Another way suicide has been involved is because of cyberbullying. The dictionary defines cyberbullying as the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature, but it is much worse than that.

The impacts of Instagram and Facebook on their audiences are unbalanced between positive and negative. Negative is the winner due to the massive counts of cyber bullying and the mental issues such as the fear of missing out, body image and anxiety. Nonetheless, between Instagram and Facebook, Instagram overall wins due to they have a large anti-bullying policy that automatically blocks offensive content and users can also disable comments and create their own set of banned words to keep themselves safe.
