On his arrival after successfully winning the battle, he meets the witches who hail him by his first title Thane of Glamis, then Thane of Cawdor, and King. This last title confused him; he wondered how he would be king if King Duncan is alive. He then sends a letter to Lady Macbeth about this revelation in which she is sold in by the thought of being queen, leading her and Macbeth to plot and execute the killing of King Duncan.

Soon after this Macbeth commits regicide but only because his wife pressures him into it, after he has second thoughts about committing the heinous crime. As soon as the King’s Sons wind of the assassination of their father they felle because most would suspect them of the crime.
Macbeth and Banquo see the witches. Macbeth overhears how Macbeth is the thane of Cawdor and Glamis and chases after because he was intrigued and wanted to find out more.
Macbeth come across the three witches, there they state, “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor” (Act 1, Scene 3). In reply to the three witches, Macbeth demanded “stay you imperfect speakers! Tell me more”. With just these few statements announced, Macbeth’s thirst for power and glory arises and is clearly seen.

Macbeth was working toward being the king of Scotland in the beginning after meeting the three wired sisters. And being told that he was king to be, so it inspired him to do anything that he had to to become king. It did not matter the circumstances he would do it. Even if that meant killing his best friend. He down was cause by him killing Macduff’s family.
