Smoking is a huge problematic which has to be faced with education and alternatives for our youth specially. Smoking is finishing with lives all over the world every day and it is something that we do not finish to understand, if we reach a point where all students know about all the risks of smoking combined with important information about how you easily become addicted to nicotine and testimonials that can get to the conscious of them, we are pretty sure that a much bigger part of students will avoid smoking and we will protect their lives and the lives of many other people.
Although in recent studies adolescents seem to show less consumption of cigarettes than adults, data shows that they develop more dependence for nicotine. A small amount of this people could be considered as non-dependent.
Once young people get into tobacco consumption they will be more likely to develop an addiction than people who try at their adulthood.
Recently, the Tecnologico the Monterrey has implemented a new campaign for a campus “free of smoke” . Our main argument is that although the spaces for smoking in the campus have been drastically reduced, the

This is a very important and relevant factor of why students are not attending to class. As we know the consequences for not attending to class are very hurtful to the academic life of a student. And in this school the Tecnologico de monterrey the amount of absences is limited by two week of not assistance during the semester and if you exceed this amount of absences you automatically fail the class you exceed the amount your absences. Another important consequence of not attending is the impossibility to hand in the activities that are supposed to be delivered that specific day, unless you have a valid justification of your
March 7, 1980, in Piscataway High School two freshman girls were caught smoking cigarettes in their school’s bathroom. A teacher had found the girls and escorted them to the principal’s office, where they had met with Assistant Vice Principal Theodore Choplick. One of the girls immediately confessed to smoking cigarettes in the bathroom while her companion denied smoking the cigarettes or ever smoking at all. The companion, known as T.L.O. (Tracy Lois Odem) was suspected of lying. Based on the other girl 's confession, the assistant vice principal brought T.L.O. into his office where he demanded to see her purse.
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, introduced an idea that sounded good, but when brought to life, it was truly a lot worse than any pros that came with it . The issue in the book quickly went out of control causing lots of problems and hurt to the characters. Shelley’s warning has now caught up to us and Vapes and/or Electronic Cigarettes are the Frankensteins shelly was teaching us about. Vapes have a juice that contains vegetable glycerin, and propylene glycol, two ingredients commonly used in food products and in fogging machines. It also contains a flavor product and nicotine.
It has been proven that many individuals find it difficult to determine if attending class should be mandatory or not. Many argue that as long as the student is doing well on the assignments and understanding the information, he/she should not be required to come to class. There are also many counter-arguments that say that one should be required to come to class no matter what. In his article “‘A’ is for Absent”, Chris Piper wants his audience to believe that attendance should not effect grades due to the fact that if a student can pass without coming to class, he/she should pass without being questions about their attendance.
Chewing gum in school can be a great topic that can cause a big debate, whether it has a good side to it or a bad side to it is controversial. Although chewing gum may have some negative aspects that can be detrimental, there are also some positive factors that can help you with your mental, physical, and emotional health during during school. For a lot of individuals who like to express their feelings and emotions of being proficient in their accuracy in doing tasks in school that may require continuous monitoring. Chewing gum can create many benefits within students. However schools should notify the significance of disposing their gum accurately.
How would you feel if one of your classmates had a gun on their desk? Could your classmate pull that gun up towards the teacher? Or could your classmate pull that gun up towards you? Try to picture yourself in high school or back in high school and try to put yourself in the situation guns are allowed in school. I think that we should have more gun control on school grounds because students would use their guns with emotional competence, to threaten people and/or show off, and schools would look more dangerous.
In order to help combat the rising drug problem in America, schools are having to make the choice of whether to use drug dogs or not. Schools have the choice of bringing drug sniffing dogs into the building in order to find and confiscate drugs that are in the possession of its students. I believe that the dogs should not be used until a problem has been confirmed or there is reasonable suspicion and severe action is warranted. Using drug dogs to sniff out drugs is a relatively new practice that started about 24 years ago (Robinson) and can be quite controversial. Using drug dogs is still relatively new because schools are trying to combat the rising drug problems that the United States has been facing.
Electronic cigarettes were first introduced into the tobacco market in 2003. However, in the last few years, electronic cigarettes have been trending, especially among high school students. According to the Surgeon General study, “In 2015, 1 in 6 high school students reported using e-cigarettes in the last month”. The promotion and production of electronic cigarettes is an issue that must be addressed because they are attracting minors who may have never been addicted to nicotine prior to the introduction of e-cigarettes in the market. Companies have branded e-cigarettes as a ‘safer’ alternative to regular cigarettes, however, it is quite possible that consumers, more specifically the youth, are not well informed of the ingredients in them.
According to The Washington Post just in one year from 2013-2014, the numbers of school students using e-cigarettes is tripled and it’s gone up 800 percent since 2011.Contrary to that This is because it is often portrayed as harmless and it is being sold in such kid-friendly options as coca-cola, candy, strawberry and many other flavors. This has raised fears in society as it is been decade, we tried to combating and decreasing the numbers of smokers (Dennis). Also, a research found that teenagers who used this device are 3 times more likely to smoke regular cigarettes compared to those who had never use this device as a lot of parents are fine with their children using this device and they are not aware of the danger of it (Spencer). Moreover, there is more report that children drinking the e-cigarette juice and become horribly ill. For example a case in New York where a toddler died after ingesting liquid nicotine intended for use in an e-cigarette as many parents unaware of the safety risks to children from unsafe storage of e-liquid.
Attending class is important so I don't miss any assignments and get behind. Being in class is important because its proven that students are more likely to succeed when they have an good attendance. I do much better in school when I don't miss a lot of days. It is very easy to get behind in class when I don't show up. I do miss a lot of school because of sickness but I am going to try and go even when I don't feel good.
Smoking does not set a good example for children, as most children that have parents/guardians who smoke, are more likely to smoke as well, since it shows them that it 's acceptable to do. It also affects the relationships people may have with family and friends, as most people do not want to be around someone who constantly smokes and smells like cigarettes. Not one of these is more crucial than the other, in the way that they all affect people 's family and
Smoking has been a long time habit round the world. However, in the past, smoking cigarette was very popular and known to be a cool recreational drug, and was widely accepted by the community across the world. Today smoking has been less widely accepted and more restricted because of the many health risks that are linked to smoking cigarette. These days, people are well educated and more knowledgeable about the health risks of smoking.
It also is a great way to get close with the professors. By not showing up, you will gain that advantage. Some professors give out participation points. A student 's grade can slip when they do not attend class due to a of lack of participation. Also, it is a good idea for students to sit in the front of the class.

this research provides substantial evidence that smoking among friends predicts adolescent future smoking, but modest evidence that general prevalence, for example, within a particular grade or school, predicts future smoking, with the exception though, of cases where a higher general prevalence of smoking among senior students is related to an increase in smoking among lower-grade students (leatherdale, cameron, brown, jolin kroeker, 2006). however, while this literature bettered our understanding of peer influence on adolescent smoking, it does not address how peer group influences actually work. friends appear to provide the greatest peer influence on adolescent smoking; peer groups (close friends) provide independent influence, but their influence may also interact with that of the best friend. peer and parental influences on longitudinal trajectories of smoking among african americans and puerto ricans..,
The more children are exposed to smoking the more likely they will become smokers. Moreover, passive smoking is also a major concern today. Research shows that people that do not smoke can suffer from health problems if they spend long periods of time among people who do
