Despite being based on very distinctive technologies, the old social media shares the basic concept of modern social media, which is communication. The difference is that earlier years from now, social media was defined as any form of communication across great distances using primitive systems such as letters which date back to 550 B.C. Later in 1792 the telegram was invented, this allowed messages to be delivered much faster than letters (Social media: Then and Now). Here, communication systems were invented to deliver news without the interaction of people on the different responses and reactions they had on that topic. Which is the complete opposite of the situation in social media in the modern years of 2015 and 2016 where when any piece of information is shared online an entire comment section is provided for the user to share his/her ideas on the posted information with the opportunity of seeing many different comments from different parts of the globe. These parts include the Middle Eastern region and small countries such as Bahrain who are up-to-date with the latest functions and uses of social media from political and social causes to communications and marketing. This group of people did not regard this affair as a serious subject as one of them declares that, “This issue is not important because there are more serious matters to discuss such as racism and sexism.” Ironically, racism and sexism are one of the major issues that have developed through the use of social media applications (Cyber racism explained). Global issues such as wars, terrorism, and racism that are considered as very heavy topics are growing due to the negative utilisation of social media
