Background Information:
PAST:
In the early days a hand held fan made from paper was used to physically cool people down. This was done by the move of the spread open fan in a to and fro movement and this generated wind. Temperatures reached were just that suitable from the surrounding area and could be made any cooler.
The air that is generated helps to cool the perspiration and cause evaporation. It was this process of evaporation that helped to cool the skin making the person feeling cooler than the surrounding.

• But what I found problematic was that the ice melted very quickly and I had to constantly empty out the water tray.

Part B:
• From my part 2 investigation, I found that the more ice I used in the unit, the cooler the air became.
• I also noticed that when I used little ice the ice melted more rapidly.
• The more ice that was used the longer it took for the ice to melt.

General:
• From both my investigations I found that my mobile unit was able to produce cool air for a suitable duration of time.
• But my unit had to be manipulated and the design revisited because the initial design had the ice compartment in segments.
• This allowed for smaller blocks of ice to be used. I then removed these segments and used a larger block of ice which lasted a longer time.

• The first problem encountered was the mal functioning of the battery when it was connected to the solar panel. This was as a result of incorrect
