1.1. Introduction
An electric vehicle (EV), also referred to as an electric drive vehicle, is a vehicle that is powered by electricity stored in the vehicle in battery through the use of one or more electric motors. An electric vehicle is an alternative fuel automobile that uses electric motors and motor controllers for propulsion, in place of more common propulsion methods such as the internal combustion engine (ICE). EVs store electricity in an energy storage device, such as battery. The electricity powers the vehicle 's wheels via an electric motor. EVs have limited energy storage capacity, which must be replenished by plugging into an electrical source. 1.5. Advantage over Traditional Method
An electric vehicle is a great way for a consumer to not only save money, but also help contribute towards a healthy and stable environment we live in. However, there have so many different reasons for buying an electric car in the modern day of technology.
• Zero Emissions: Electric cars are fully (100%) eco-friendly as they run on electrically powered motors. It does not emit toxic gases or smoke in the environment as it runs on green energy sources.
• Reduce Noise Pollution:EV’s create less noise than traditional vehicles. Electric motors are capable of providing smooth drive with higher acceleration over longer distances. As EV’s are much quieter so they are very much helpful for reducing noise pollution.

• Cost Effective: An electric vehicle is cost effective in both sense of fuel cost and maintenance cost. An EV is far cheaper to run as it needs much fewer units of energy. Though electricity is not free, fuel cost of an EV is very much lower than an equivalent conventional fossil fuelled vehicle cost at current energy price.
