R.Santhosh and Dr.A.Nirmala Grace ABSTRACT:- INTRODUCTION:- In engineering fields the capacitor is very useful component. Capacitor is a electric device which stores energy in the form of electric field and it’s known as condensers. Capacitance is separated by single layer dielectric by uniform thickness and characterized by capacitance C. Electrolytic capacitors are the next generation capacitors. In supercapacitors it stores energy having similarities both batteries and capacitors. When compared to conventional capacitors it posses higher energy density so longer cyclic life than batteries. These capacitors are using carbon as a main electrode for both anode and cathode with organic and aqueous electrolytes. Supercapacitors are rated in farads. Super capacitors has a high capacitance and it stores more energy where as in normal capacitors it has low capacitance and stores less amount of energy to overcome these drawbacks we are using super capacitors. Supercapacitor has a high specific area with thinner electrode where as normal capacitors has smooth electrode this is the main difference between super capacitors and normal capacitors. Hence the value of capacitance and …show more content…

It involves the current response of the device with respect to a voltage change. This measurement applies a constant sweep rate (dv/dt) and monitors the current response of the two electrode device. The sweep was done at varying rates to see the effect on capacitance and at various potential ranges, wherein the electrolyte remains stable. The ideal shape of the capacitor is not seen due to possible reactions and a linear increase in current is due to the device resistance. In this method the electrodes associated with carbon results that the current increase with increasing
