“Personal Statement on Electronic Systems Engineering”

Being the first son of a man who did menial jobs to see himself through school, and a woman who never had the opportunity of having any post-secondary education, my mantra has always been; “I am the first among the best”. After undeniably enjoying my undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, it is my life long goal to further my career in Electronic Systems Engineering; a field that carries future potential and itself birthed instrumentation, control, automation as well as mechatronic engineering. Thus, it is my desire to be admitted to the School of Graduate Studies and Research, University of Regina, thereby adding value to the Engineering Industry by contributing answers to challenging …show more content…

My social involvement never impacted negatively on my study, but instead boosted my Emotional Intelligence and overall communication skills. Fully taking advantage of my learning skills and time management, I got exceptionally high scores in majority of my courses, which eventually paid off as I graduated top of my class with a CGPA of 4.78 of a possible 5.0. With this, I was awarded both Dean’s and Chancellor’s prize for the best graduating student for the academic session.
My love for Electronics systems engineering as a design process inspired me to undergo a diploma certification as a draftsman in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and Plant Design Management System (PDMS). These certifications led me to land my current job as a Power Plant Project Engineer in Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics (LADOL) where I currently oversee the installation of a 24 MW Siemens dual fuel power plant, an 11KV open ring distribution network, as well as the day to day activities of a 9 MW containerized interim power
