Describe an experience in which you made a positive difference in a community you are a member of. Maurer & Smith describes geopolitical community as a geographical area or place (2013 ). My personal geopolitical community is a master planned community located in the San Joaquin Hills in the southeastern corner of Orange Country, California. It is geopolitical as it is surrounded by well-defined boundaries for easy identification on a map. In 2016, the city reported a population of almost 66,000.
Social pyschology encompases the ideas of social interaction between people and how that affects an individual. Scientific methods are used to understand and explain how the thoughts, feelings, and behavior of individuals are influenced by our social environment around us. Social perception and interaction are vital to touch on when speaking about social psychology. Social perception focuses on how people form impressions and make inferences about other people while social interaction is the exchange of words between a group of people.If we connect this with our presidential election, we clearly see how the media positively and negatively affected the supporters and Clinton/Keane.
It is impossible to view oppression, such as racism or sexism, in isolation because they are all connected: classism, ableism, and ageism. They are linked by a common origin—economic power and control and by common methods of limiting, controlling, and destroying lives (Pharr, Suzanne, 1998). Pharr believes there is no hierarchy of oppression. Each is terrible and destructive. She says that to eliminate one oppression successfully, a movement has to include work to eliminate them all or else success will always be limited and incomplete.

In 1980, Porter among other authors scanned the business environment and came up with the current acronym PESTEL meaning political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors (FME, 2013). Living in a diverse society has its advantages. One of the advantages is that it can increase one’s knowledge, awareness and understanding about others culture, ethnicity, beliefs, practices, customs, tradition, et cetera. Despite that fact that living in a diverse society has its advantages, it also has its disadvantages. The disadvantages are that it is hard to preserve their own cultural identity. Another disadvantage is that it can result in disagreements, conflicts and fights between the different people who are living together.
