ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:
The use of electronics revolutionized our way of life. The contribution of electronics particularly in medical area is immense. They play a key role in the field of medical diagnostics and treatment. This paper focuses the major role played by electronics in medical field.
ELECTRONICS IN MEDICAL FIELD: Emergency alarms, bed beeping systems and x-ray machines are all examples of equipment using electronics based application. Some surgical procedures are even computer guided. An example in laproscopic surgery, where the surgeon inserts the medical tools and a small camera and conducts the operation with the help of computers and monitors. some machines also monitor heart rates, pulse rates and brain readings.
CT Scanner: A CT Scanner has the ability to take pictures of the body with much greater accuracy and speed and with less radiation than an x-ray. CT scanners could only scan the head, today there are whole body

For example, before MRI’s the only way to tell if someone had a torn ligament versus patella instability was surgery. Patella instability is a condition where the kneecap slides around causing pain and inflammation mimicking a torn ligament. While a torn ligament requires surgery patella instability does not. Prior to the ability to confirm a diagnosis with an MRI, the patient would have had to have exploratory surgery.
PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEMS: Patient monitoring systems greatly increase the knowledge that doctors and hospitals have regarding their patients. Prior to their advent, it was required that a nurse physically monitor patients. If nurse only monitors each patient every hour, and the patient had stopped breathing 30 minutes prior to her arrival, the patient would be dead. Today an alarm which an advancement of electronics will sound when a patient stops breathing and hospital staff will rush to the room to resuscitate the patient.

. Here is where I come in; graduating in 1998 from the title of a Medical Assistant II to State Certified, nurse and HHA nurse of 19 years. I have had the chance to operate multiple machines from the EKG heart monitor on down to the blood pressure cuff. However, people have been using devices in their homes for many years’ due to disorder like cardiovascular, respiratory, oral, gastrointestinal, and amputee’s have the independent security of using devices in their home.
Identify the best radiological evaluation method for any of the following: Impingement syndrome, rotator cuff tear, and biceps tendon tear. Each diagnostic modality has a particular feature in diagnosing the shoulder lesions such as impingement syndrome, rotator cuff tear, and tear of the biceps tendon of a human musculoskeletal system and its surrounding structures. Ultrasound (US) US is the most efficient imaging method for detecting the shoulder impingement caused by calcified bony deposits, irregularities or abnormalities of the bursa and surrounding structures (Ostlere, 2003). Based on the eighty-two eligible meta-analysis articles conducted by Roy et al.
Falls of critically ill patients admitted to the ICU routine should be avoided developing certain strategies used outside this area, such as prevention of displacement, promote stability, elimination of sliding hazards routinely ensure that the patient is oriented to the environment and the bell is at the fingertips, keeping the beds in the lowest position and braking, providing adequate lighting, and provide anti-slip footwear and technical assistance in lifting patients bed. The response time of the call prolonged ringing patient or family is just one of the potential causes of falls, firstly because if the response time is greater serve their needs later, and partly because no response to the patient may start feeling agitated. Shift schedules nurses can be particularly effective in preventing falls, as they allow the staff to anticipate and address the needs of each patient. The tubing, drains and cables must be securely to prevent tripping when lifting or embody patients. Although falls can happen without warning, subsequent falls can be avoided if the etiology of them is
The following scenario will best reflect my practice and use of informatics. The scenario is not representative of a particular patient but is a combination of daily events in my position so that no patient rights are violated. I am three hours into my shift as the assistant nurse manager (charge nurse) of a busy emergency department (ED) with my responsibilities in the department being to manage the flow of a shift that will see roughly 100 new patients during the 12 hours but also oversee the care of the 5-20 long term patient who are listed as observation or inpatient holds. We can expand to 60 beds with the use of hall beds. I have a bank of monitors to my left which display the EKG and vital signs of over 48 patients.
First application is called eCareManager which is a physician-focused ICU electronic medical record and tool set for executing routine tasks like monitoring, note and order writing, care planning, and
Introduction The scope of the nursing practice is changing with the improvement of technology. Computer and information technology is just as important to nurses as their stethoscopes, so implementing and using Medical Information Technology (MEDITECH) an Electronic Health Records (EHR) is vital in improving patient care. The importance and knowledge of the possibilities and limitations of EHR systems is brought up throughout this paper. Chilton Hospital and Fairmont General Hospital review their possibilities and limitations about using MEDITECH.
Magnet versus non-Magnet Hospitals What is a magnet hospital and what does it offer that other hospitals don’t. If you were to go to a Magnet versus a non-Magnet hospital, would you be able to tell the difference? The purpose of this paper is to describe some of the differences and the benefits of a Magnet hospital verse a non-Magnet hospital.
Electrotherapeutic modalities are tests such as using a TENS device, commonly used to reduce pain in pregnancy, and ultrasounds, also used in pregnancy. The TENS machine created low currents which is then transferred to the skin via electrodes and it carry out the same function as in pregnancy, it helps to decrease pain
The use of satellites for remote monitoring of patients has also led to the development of new techniques for diagnosing and treating diseases. Additionally, the use of computers and the internet has led to the creation of electronic health records and the development of new medical imaging techniques. These advancements have greatly improved the quality of healthcare and have made it more accessible to people around the
There is no denying that the role of a bedside nurse is changing dramatically in this immensely submerged technical century. Patients have enough anxiety and concern about their health care needs. Meeting the team of healthcare professionals in an unfamiliar setting can be intimidating enough. Today with technology, introducing the implementation of electronic health records (EHRs) in the healthcare environment it is important to remain intact with caring, as much as it is to be diligent while documenting a patient's care plan. A nurse should always make the patients feel cared for regardless of all the new technology in the room.
Demonstrate effective use of technology to navigate the electronic health record, communicate with inter/intraprofessional teams, and be involved with decision making in the delivery of quality and safe patient care. (Ivy Tech Community College, 2016). Rationale In nursing, the use of technology is vital in providing high quality of care and complete understanding of the patient.
Camilli (2014), asserted that educational delivery is being carried out in innovative and convenient ways, including the use of simulation, virtual classrooms, distance education, podcasts, web conferencing, and online assessments. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) can be easily recognized as standard components of the nursing process and daily nursing practice, appearing as electronic assessments. Furthermore, nursing students are gaining increasing exposure to technologies during undergraduate studies which includes increasing volumes of electronic health records (EHR), digital diagnostic tools, health monitoring, and reporting equipment, barcode scanning, as well as mobile and hand-held documentation devices. This skills can be applied to clinical setting such as using EHR to follow up patient laboratory results and relay critical lab values to the physician. Also, barcode scanning can be used to prevent medical errors by giving the correct medications to the patient and also prompts the EHR for any related allergies to the medication that is prescribed during treatment or hospitalization.

THE FUNCTION OF ENGINEERS IN PROTECTING THE SOCIETY 1. MEANING OF ENGINEERING We often use the words “science and technology” for engineering. what can be done by engineers with science and technology? Researchers think about it and do some research which resulted in the understanding that engineering is about planning and designing something that helps society by regulating science and technology.
Technology: A Distraction in Life New modern life circled with technology gadgets. Technology has been progressing quickly which has become an important part in our lives which is harmful for our body. Many people have been using these stuff to communicate with each other, play games, listen to music, or discover a new culture. However, it may also have some positive impact in which it can help students in their daily life to get some information out of the internet to solve their homework or other things. For example, adults use these instruments at work and students at school.
