I could have screamed in anger. To have lived and endured so much; was I going to let my father die now?” (104-105). Elie was scared to be alone when he believed his father was dead, and he states that he no longer had a reason to live. In other cases Because Elie believes his father is dead, he is relieved that he no longer has to worry about his father. He is then followed by regret.
His father's presence is the one thing that keeps Elie running and without this presence he might have fallen out of rank and been killed by the SS or the bitter cold. The relationship Elie has with his father pushes him to keep running and continue to live. He decides that he would rather stay with his father in this difficult time than give up
Sanaubar is a common harlot, who is known a lot from the soldiers because she pleasures the soldiers sexually. She betrays Ali, by cheating on him with Baba and the soldiers and while cheating with Baba she became pregnant, which was Hassan. Sanaubar betrays Hassan by refusing to touch him and then leaving her family a week later by running off with a group of singers and dancers. Since Ali is sterile, it is possible that he may have wanted a son his previous marriage produced no children as well and what better choice to turn to than his oldest friend, Baba. It is also possible that Baba's encounter with Sanaubar was a one-time thing, meant to produce the child that Ali had wanted.
As he is walking around the camp, he is trying to find his father, but at the same time he is wishing he didn’t, “‘Don’t let me find him! If only I could get rid of this dead weight, so that I could use all my strength to struggle for my own survival, and only worry about myself,’ I immediately felt ashamed of myself, ashamed forever,” (Wiesel, 111). This excerpt describes just how badly he wants to leave his father. He loves him dearly, but Elie gets constant reminders of the terrors of the camp. People die constantly and they don’t have to take care of a withered old man such as Elie’s father.
The narrator's biggest conflict, in my opinion, is why did Sonny turn down such a dark path and how can he help his brother without judging the lifestyle he chose. Although, this is not the only conflict in the story. Not only does the narrator struggle with helping his brother but he also blames himself for Sonny's outcome in life. He promised his mother to look after Sonny when she passed because "he ain't going to have nobody to look out for him" (259). The narrator seems to take on the responsibility of Sonny's fallen actions because he was off in the Army and left Sonny with Isabel's parents.
However, at the end of the story, Sartoris allows his father’s wrath to be motivation and strength to run away from the only home, his family, that has ever stayed with him. By running away, Sartoris thinks what is best for him; he desires more to life by himself than starting a new life every time his father causes
The youngest traveler say, “Lord, to think I might have all that treasure to myself alone!”(Pg 149) He intentionally killed his teammates because of his love of money. The bible says “ For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have emed from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many snow.” (1 Timothy 6:10) Nowadays, THere are a lot of crime because money. Many people are willing to do anything to achieve their own interest. Because of the love of money, and now we have lost respect, friendship and love. The beatles says “ For I do not care too much for money, for money cannot buy me love.” (The Beatles) Money and greed really will adversely affect a person’s life.
Satoris, the young boy that the story portrays, has a tough life due to his dad. His dad does not display the love for his family like most fathers should. Satoris shows that he must defy his parent rule to get away from his corrupt family. He does this, because he requires hope just so he can get a life that he demands. Faulkner uses the last two paragraph to show that even though Satouris is going against everything he knows; he will benefit more to go into
He felt bad because Rabbi Eliahou’s son left him because he was weak. Elie hates this because his father is the only thing of his family he has left and he knows his father is getting weaker. Elie and his father are closer because Elie knows that his father is the only thing he can live for and also his father is only fighting to stay alive because he has son left to live
However, Ponyboy did have the same reaction, but he didn’t do something harmful to himself. Now he is worried about losing his family because his brothers are so important to him. This is also what Dally was worried about when Johnny died. Moreover, Ponyboy and his brothers are now going to need to stick together because of the death of two people in their gang. Additionally, Darry is going to have to work even harder in his two jobs to keep his family together.
Osewoudt’s reasons for killing are not heroic reasons, just a reason for him to continue living and to serve a purpose. “Dorbeck has made a new man of me, he thought”(97). Osewoudt wanted a meaning to his life and he believed his actions portrayed him as a soldier fighting for the right cause… “I had no skilled, no ambition. “It wasn’t until I met Dorbeck that I felt I wanted something “(204). Osewoudt’s uncle called him a coward because he believed it was his responsibility to protect his wife and mother, and instead, he just selfishly decided to look after himself(112).
He fought harder to stay alive for his father. When they arrived at Buchenwald, he fell very ill. Elie’s and his father received barely any food to eat, but Elie always gave a small portion of his meal to his father. Despite if he was starving, he always put his father’s health before his health. But after the blockalteste talked to him and said he couldn’t save his father, Elie
Should the brothers be separated because they have no mom or dad, even though they try so hard to stay together? The people in the system are wanting to separate the Curtis boys. I think that even though they have no parents, to me the brothers should stay together like all families should. Darry is always looking out for his brothers and making sure that they are taken care of. “Darry would beat him to death for giving us the money and the gun and getting us out of town” (Hinton, 61).
Imagine having to give up on your dreams for the ones you love. Many kids have to give up stuff like their dream job and education, maybe a sport they love because mom and dad can’t afford it or they may not have parents. Darry should be named a hero in the book. Darry is a hero because he had to give up going to college or playing the sport he loved because he had to take care of his siblings. Darry had to sacrifice his education so his brother, his only family left didn’t get sent to a boys home.
It has been difficult to adapt to the lost of my closest companion and i wish that he was still alive right up 'til the present time. I have seen my companions legs behind two stopped autos and no signs that he will survive. He didn 't make it to a healing facility. From that day on i had not been feeling the same and discovered myself getting into more inconvenience promotion settling on doltish choices. One thing i know is life wont be the same well for it feels that way.
