If 28th falls on a weekend then payment will be made upfront on the day before the weekend. This pay is above the range which is a requirement by the government and among the best within the State of Florida which is $17.91 per hour in comparison with the experience required for the position. The pay too has to be in agreement with the budget of the organization. There will be taxes to be pad as required by the governing laws. The Basic Allowances There will be monthly transport allowance of $900, monthly housing allowance of $1,000, and no telephone allowance There are several factors which determine allowances to given to the employees. If the firm has staff quarters then there should not be housing allowance, the same happens with transport and telephone allowance if the firm has a van that transports its employees and availability of free airtime in the office. From 1875-1900, America was beginning to rise up from the increase in industrialization. However, dubbed “the gilded age” by Mark Twain, the thriving promise of a better , wealthier life in America was not as it seemed. When labor unions rose to change the harsh working conditions placed on workers, it seemed to be that they found little to no success. This was brought on by the little change that they made, the suffering and hardships they brought on themselves and others, and the little support they received from those around them. Although labor unions were able to change some conditions, most of those changes were minimal.
The talk of the town has been the fast food strike for minimum wage to raise to $15 dollars an hour. Many are against this because they do not feel like fast food restaurants deserve to be paid $15 dollars an hour to flip a burger and deep fry French fries. Others, believe that they do deserve that much because they cannot live a comfortable life on the minimum wage now. The controversy is whether a fast food job is suppose to be a short term job or a long term career? There are many other professions that went through years of schooling and testing and only make a little over $15 an hour.

The Knights of Labor, officially known as, the Noble and Holy Order of the Knights of Labor was formed in the 1880’s by Uriah Stephens. Although Uriah Stephens was the founder, the most prominent leaders were Terence V. Powderly with the help of his step brother Joseph Bath. This order was formed to promote the working man, reject socialism and anarchism, as well as promoting the eight hour work day.
