Job satisfaction is the state of mind of an employee due to the job scope or environment of the organisation. “Find a job that you would love to do and you don’t have to work for the rest of your life”. This sentence clearly implies that every human being should look for a career according to their field of interest or they should love the career position they are assigned to. A person’s satisfaction towards their employment can be observed through their attitude during their period of service in an organisation. A positive character towards our job explains whether we have a high satisfaction level or vice versa. Since career is a long term run, low motivation and job satisfaction is a severe problem that will not show the effects in the beginning but as time passes by, this will affect the mental health of a person and eventually the performance level of an employee will reduce .According to Syptak, Marshland and Ulmer (1999), imprecise or unnecessary management policies which can be a main source of frustration for employee’s in an organization. By addressing this issue, organizational psychologists can decrease employee dissatisfaction by making sure the company's policies are fair and apply equally to all. In order to increase the level of motivation of an employee in an organization according to Noe (2005), "goal-setting theory suggests that learning can be facilitated by providing individuals specific challenging goals and objectives" (p.111). In a workplace, it is vital that individuals are placed in sectors they are good and qualified for because by doing this, it will allow them to be productive and contribute for the company’s success. Based on this theory, organizational psychologists should advise their clients to set clear and achievable goals to their employees. Employees should know up front what is expected from them. Feedback should be provided regularly to ensure corrections can be made along the way.
