Although Temas and Jerry face different tests with different circumstances, the results of both boys’ tests were successful. Temas could be described as successful because he killed the lion. Once Temas killed the lion, the members of his tribe recognized him as a masai Warrior. Jerry also proved Successful by completing his test. Jerry swim through the tunnel and came out on the other side after completing his test, Jerry no longer felt immature or attached to his mother nor did he feel the need to fit in with the local boys period comparatively both boys were successful in their test; Temas killed his line and became a warrior; and Jerry swam through the tunnel and no longer felt inferior to those around him.
He proves that he is a great leader and isn’t easily affected by conflict. He says, “[I] shouted out to him in my rage, ‘Cyclops, if anyone asks you who it was that put your eye out and spoiled your beauty, say it was the valiant warrior Odysseus…’” (96-98). As he and the remainder of his crew are leaving the island, he yells back to Polyphemus to make sure the Cyclops knows exactly who he is. Odysseus additionally shows he can easily trick others. He says, “...three times did I fill the bowl for him, and three times did he drain it… then, I saw the wine had got to his head” (12-13).
He can hold it when he's speaking.’” (Golding 36), which gives everybody a chance to voice themselves and support Ralph voluntarily. This strategy of gradually building a positive reputation prior to giving orders to the boys highlights Ralph’s ability to gain authority, whilst acknowledging that he is not superior to any of the boys. This is in comparison to Jack, who falls prey to the excitement of proving his hunting capabilities to the boys, using it as an excuse to lead the boys, which essentially serves as the cause of the chaos the island falls into. He eventually even destroys the conch, symbolizing his role as a catalyst in the loss of democracy, and thus

“Just as the next blow was coming, Ender reached up with both hands, snatched the boy by his wrist, and then pulled down on the arm, hard.”() Card and his somewhat applaudable idea of power did not view it sufficient enough for Ender to request the aid of an adult. But did envision Ender reinforcing the agony brought upon him, promulgating his power in such a way he experiences yet another unintended consequence. “…the boy was feeling exactly the pain Ender had meant him to feel…I am Peter. I’m just like him. And Ender hated himself.”() Virtually identical to the emotional consequence Ender formerly suffered from Stilson, delineates his sentiments regarding Bernard; Card not developing on his idea in the slightest, keeping Ender’s own hatred of himself and the potential individual he apparently mocks
Riddick as a character is bad he has a code of conduct that makes him evil but gives him qualities that some would consider good. Through the movie he has chances to do good things but he considers himself a loner and there for doesn't care about anyone else. At moments he could be described as a psychopath with no emotional grief who likes to see others suffer or at least enjoys messing with people before killing them in horrible and sudden ways. Always one step ahead of his opponent, Riddick constantly shows his prowess as a warrior and often times as a problem solver constantly anticipating his opponents moves . In the movie The Chronicles Of Riddick, Riddick is described by the narrator as a evil of another kind.
As the Daniel’s prayer life regularity was so consistent that all those that knew Daniel also recognized his character as a faithful prayer “three times a day”, this is why his enemy decided to attack him during his prayer time. But fortunately the attack was unsuccessful when God closed the lion’s mouth. Although his attackers were confident and sure that they would kill him, but God sent an angel to “shut the lion’s mouth” (Daniel 6:22) and this saved the life of Daniel

After killing Grendel, Beowulf’s men describe him as “the mighty protector of men” and “Edgetho’s brave son.” Since Beowulf defeated a monster that no other man could kill, Beowulf is immediately heralded as a hero. Beowulf’s pride and respect both drastically increase after his fight with Grendel. Hrothgar is the first to inform Beowulf of his terrible flaw that could potentially leave him in danger. When Beowulf is warned of his prideful nature by Hrothgar, he mentions Beowulf’s strength and how it is “in bloom” but reminds him “it fades quickly” Hrothgar pleads to Beowulf, “Do not take pride.” (1760-62). Beowulf must take into account how fleeting his pride
William James once said in his book “ History is a bath of blood”, “Modern man inherits all the innate pugnacity and all the love of glory of his ancestors. Showing war’s irrationality and horror is of no effect on him. The horrors make the fascination. War is the strong life; it is life in Extremis; war taxes are the only ones men never hesitate to pay, as the budgets of all nations show us.” (303) However, this does not seem true to most returning veterans. According to two short fictional stories “ Soldier’s Home” and “ A Perfect Day for Bananafish,” two protagonists’ lives after brutal wars explicitly demonstrate the idea that they are not only pathetic survivors from battles, but also victims of relentless wars through authors’ vivid depictions of each character and elaborate arrangement of settings.
This was very well depicted on paragraph 17 “the cloud of fear scattered from his mind and he laughed.’’ Many do not think of snipers as brave because they “shoot their opponent when their back is turned.” But, if you are able to go through the previous experiences without going completely crazy, you are considered very brave to me. 2) After he killed the enemy sniper, he was curious to see who he had killed. This is very well depicted in the sentence “he felt a sudden curiosity as to the identity of the
There is an old saying by Edmund Burke is that the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. This is true however in both of the cases of heroism and valor in the face of evil and danger good men did something. In Umpqua a 10-year Army veteran stalled a crazed gunman from getting into classrooms immediately and doing what he planned to do. This shows that when evil rises to cause damage to innocence a few good men will rise to stop evil no matter the cost. Chris Mintz allowed a multitude of innocent civilians time to run to safety at the expense of his own.
(Aldrich, Ian) Chris may mainly be remembered for shooting an enemy from an unbelievable 2,100 yards away, or a call he made when an unaware child was holding a weapon that threatend his people, but in all honesty, he should be remembered for the strength, nobility, and bravery he showed, not his stats. I am so grateful to those who go out and risk their life everyday so that I and others can be peacefully oblivious to the horror
