Endoscopic sinus surgery is a minimally invasive technique in which sinus air cells and sinus ostia are opened under direct visualization. The aim of this procedure is to restore sinus ventilation and normal functions.1
Stammberger, Messerklinger, Wigand, and Kennedy and colleagues created a revolution in the understanding and surgical management of nasal sinus disease. The ability to use nasal endoscopy for the diagnosis, identification of sinus and nasal pathology within the narrow spaces and recesses of the nose, and delicate management of the disease has benefited the patient by more accurate surgery, preservation of function, and rapid healing.2
With the arrival of modern endoscopic sinus surgery instruments and techniques in the 1980s,

Nasal polyposis is a common disease in Rhinology which is better treated with Endoscopic nasal sinus surgery.
The Rationale of this study is to assess result and success of this procedure in patients of Nasal Polyposis in our population and to compare its result with the result of previous study in last 5 years of our population.1 There is better visualization, good outcome and success rate and less recurrence of nasal polyps with endoscopic sinus surgery. In our population most of the cases of Nasal Polyposis are still treated with conventional surgical procedures which have no better outcome and success, more recurrences and complications. If results show good outcome then Endoscopic surgery will be
“The operation was done without X-rays, antibiotics, surgical prep-work, or tools of modern surgery. Dr. Williams' skills placed him and Provident Hospital at the fore-front of one of Chicago’s medical milestone” (“Who Was Dr. Daniel Hale
Technology is an ever-growing industry which has become a factor in nearly everyone’s daily schedule in one way or another. As a result of the growth in modern technology, innovations in the medical field have developed extraordinarily in the past decade alone. For instance, there is an extensive variety of imaging equipment which could be used to create reliable results, such as the CT scan or even the X-ray machine. However, Sonography has out-smarted the competition when seeking a non-evasive, safe, and affordable method of visualizing the body to assist in the process of immediate care.
Perforated Eardrum The eardrum is a thin membrane found inside the ear, which detects sound vibrations and helps transmit them to the brain. It also plays an important role in protecting the inner ear from bacteria and other foreign objects. A perforated eardrum (or perforated ear drum) occurs when this membrane is torn or damaged, leading to reduced hearing and possible ear infection.
In MIS the medical tool, and small image capturing device with its own source of light (endoscope) are inserted into patient body through a small (0.5 - 1.5 cm) incisions. The general name we use for MIS procedures is Endoscopy and depending on the body part operated we use different name (laparoscopy - abdominal or pelvic, arthroscopy - joint interiors, etc.) and instruments. There are some obvious advantages of Endoscopy over open surgery, advantages such as: reduced surgical trauma, decreased blood loss, smaller wound and consequent pain, less demand for painkillers in postoperative period, quicker hospitalization and full physical activity recovery, and more pleasant external look of the scar. However, some drawbacks to the method need to be mentioned. Major disadvantages being the limited access to certain internal regions of the human body and precision of the instruments used.
Combined with knowledge in human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the implementation of tools and technologies, they assessed progression of the surgical operation, anticipating every need to facilitate a surgeon’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedure while keeping a vigilant count of surgical instruments and sponges which is pivotal in preventing adverse event
The surgical treatment involves many types of specialists from a plastic surgeon that takes care of reconstructing the patients face to a social worker to provide guidance and counseling for the child and the family. The surgeon will discuss the details of the surgery, risks, difficulties, payments, recovery time, and the result of it. The surgical procedure can be performed in two ways. There is the rotation advancement lip restoration, where the surgeon makes an opening on both sides of the nostrils, going from the lip into the nostrils. Working through the incision, the surgeon opens the lip completely, rotates the pink outer part downward, and advances skin from the cheek into the cut part to get rid of the cleft.
The ultimate goal of this particular data analysis is to find a way to decrease the incidence of post-surgical infections. Although there should be emphasis placed on the surgeon that has shown more patients with post-surgical infections, the overarching goal is to identify why these infections could be occurring as often as they are and how to

Cancer.net tells that around two thousand people are being diagnosed with this cancer every year, and the cancer occurs much more often in males rather than females. Paranasal cancer develops within the tissues in the paranasal sinuses and nasal cavities. It creates a tumor which can be removed through many types of surgery depending
From these questions that were given out by Dr. Frander, many students should have a great understanding what to expect to the mid-term exam. Dr. Frander really encouraged us to study because most of these questions are difficult. For instance, she gave us an example in a patient who has COPD/ emphysema. What we have concluded from this question what they are looking for the emphysema patients don’t have a problem of taking air in rather they have a problem of taking the air out. The main problem of the emphysema, they have a lot of mucus, and the alveoli which where the gas exchange takes is impaired.
The pharynx is a muscular tube that extends supero-inferiorly from the base of the cranium to the level of the inferior surface of the body of the sixth cervical vertebra. The pharynx lies dorsal to the nasal cavity, the oral cavity and the larynx. The nasal portion of the nasopharynx has bony elements in its wall and thus it is rigid, whereas the pharyngeal portion is contractile as a result of the muscular nature of its wall.4 The relationship between craniofacial morphology and respiratory function has been studied extensively since the beginning of 20th century54. Some authors claim that patients with deficient respiratory functions present with lip incompetency, increased anterior face height, maxillary constriction, protruded maxillary
On June 1st 2016 I went into the hospital, confident that when I came out I would be able to breathe. On this day I went in to get some of the bones in my nose removed, this procedure is called a turbinectomy. Before this I could hardly breathe out of my nose, for months and months, I thought it was allergies but when I went to Dr. Glen Porter he told me that my turbinates were swollen to the point that I could hardly breathe through my nose. He said he could take the bones out and I would be able to breathe.
1.0 Introduction 1.1 Background of the Issue This report is written to find out the pros and cons of cosmetic surgery to people as well as how much cosmetic surgery has benefited people both positively and negatively. Cosmetic surgery procedures have been performed back in the early 1800s, which means it has been in existence for centuries as what history has suggested. Besides that, the development of cosmetic surgery states that it started to gain popularity since the 1970s and 1980s. Cosmetic surgery can be defined as the operative procedure as improvement of appearance is the principal purpose (Medical Dictionary for the Dental Professions, 2012).
