Gatorade and Powerade are both energy drinks made to do the same thing supply athletes with more electrolytes. Gatorade is the original sports drink made first in 1965 while Powerade was later made just to rival Gatorade in 1988. That gotten thousands thousands of people going into the market, and getting 2 packs of Coca Cola before everyone gets them all. It is absorbed through the stomach and reaches the highest level in the bloodstream after one or two hours. Caffeine reaches the brain quickly and acts as a stimulant for the nervous system. The most noticeable effect of caffeine is alertness. It causes us to feel less tired, so it is a main ingredient in medicines designed to prevent exhaustion. Unfortunately, it is possible to have an overdose of caffeine or a caffeine withdrawal. If too much caffeine is ingested, it can cause hallucinations and confusion. If someone is used to having caffeine on a regular basis, and then doesn’t have it for a while, it can cause irritability, drowsiness, nausea, and anxiety. Caffeine can also cause raised levels of stomach acid, which can cause heartburn. It is not a good thirst quencher because it signals your body to get rid of water. Surprisingly, additional caffeine is not stored in the body. The liver processes it and it exits through urine. Caffeine can also affect the skeletal systems. Ingestion of large amounts of caffeine can interfere with the absorption and metabolism of

Teaching coping mechanisms is an important task in grief counseling. These skills provide a healthy outline for patients to handle stress, depression and other secondary stressors. However, while volunteering in grief counseling, I noticed that some coping mechanisms seem to do more harm than good. Usually, counselors would suggest that individuals resort to coping mechanisms during difficult times. But do all coping mechanism provide proper relief for struggling individuals? Or can coping mechanisms be used in an unhealthy way?
Energy drinks give us a quick burst of energy when we are feeling tired but which one gives us the most amount of energy? To find out which energy drink would give us the most I am going to test which energy drink has the highest voltage. One of the people I interviewed said that they would like to know which energy drink has the highest voltage. Another person that I questioned said that he doubted energy drinks had any voltage at all. The last person I interviewed asked if energy drinks had a higher voltage compared to water or if they had the same voltage. All liquids have a voltage this is where we get our energy from. The reason energy drinks have a voltage is because of the high amount of caffeine they have in them and the reason water has a voltage is because of the process that water goes through to be cleaned. The water particles rubbing together cause friction giving the water a static electric charge. In order to test which energy drink has the highest voltage to give the most energy I am going to use a zinc nail, copper wire, a volt meter and four different energy drinks and water. I am going to compare the voltage of the different energy drinks to the voltage of water to see whether there is a significant difference between the voltage of energy drinks and water. The energy drinks I will be using are Rockstar, Power Horse, USN Spike and Monster.
With the constantly increasing paces of everyday life the search for an energy source, capable of boosting the human body to new limits by extending its endurance, continues. In the recent years a specific product, called an energy drink, has received much publicity worldwide. The energy drink is a highly caffeinated stimulant that is able to rise the performance of the human body. Many people consider it as a refreshment after a hard day’s work. What’s more one of the most frequently used cases of energy drinks is in combination with alcohol during parties. However, the majority of consumers do not understand the way they work and often abuse with the consumption of the substance. Furthermore, a great amount of them are unaware of what effects can be caused on the human body.
Caffeine is a chemical found naturally in few plants all over the world. From these plants it is processed into its pure form and then put into other things such as soda, energy drinks, tea, and pills. Energy drinks and soda are some of the most widely marketed products in the world, even though they contain the highest concentration of caffeine outside of pure caffeine supplements. It is a stimulant that affects everyone in strange but semi predictable ways. Research has been done on this topic since the 1920’s and many different conclusions have been reached. In modern schools of thought, caffeine has been found to be a lightly addictive, moderate to severe stimulant that affects neurological function in various ways, though scientists disagree

In 2013, the hypothesis of a study was energy drinks will allow a player to run more distances during the tournament (Coso, Portillo, Munoz, Abian-Vicen, Gonzalez-Millan, & Munoz-Guerra, 2013). The method used is a double-blind, placebo-controlled and randomized experimental design. The study used sixteen women from the Spanish Rugby Sevens National Team(Coso et al., 2013). They were in their twenties and weighed on average one hundred forty-six pounds. There were two competitive days, Monday and Thursday of the same week. Each day there were three games. Randomly the players took a powdered caffeine energy drink dissolved in 250mL of tap water to get 3 mg/kg of caffeine per kg, or the same drink with no caffeine content. Eight players with caffeine and eight players with placebo for each competition day. The placebo drink and energy drink looked identical and had similar taste. The beverages were in opaque plastic bottles, consumed one hour before the game. Two days before the experiment, participants were nude-weighed to calculate the amount of energy drinks they had. The rugby players did the same exercise every time before a test. They were told to keep away from caffeine, and alcohol two days before the test. On the day of the experimental trials, participants ate three hours before they began the tests. Before the game, urine samples were collected from the players. The sample was frozen at -30 C to see the amount of caffeine was in it. Then the players
Coffee vs energy drinks, who will win? People drink coffee and energy drinks because they wake you up and they get you ready for the day. Most energy drinks hold 8.4 ounces. On the other hand, coffee has 8 ounces. On the healthier side, coffee only has 1 calorie for 8 ounces while energy drinks have 110 calories for 8.4 ounces. Usually you find both of these items at Wawa. If you want to drink energy drinks I would go with the brand Red Bull. Coffee has no effect on your heart. The reason why people drink coffee and energy drinks because they give you a boost of power. By digesting these liquids you have to drink them. Personally in my opinion, I rather drink energy drinks than coffee because I don 't like the bitter taste of coffee.
