Energy Sources And Their Importance Of Renewable Energy

Renewable energy sources and their importance: Humans realized what is happening around them and started to develop the appropriated technology in order to use other methods friendlier to the environment. Ellabban, et al. (2014) defines Renewable energy sources as energy sources that derive naturally and replenished by nature. Some derive directly from the sun like photo-electric, photo-chemical and thermal while others indirectly like wind, hydropower and photosynthetic energy stored in biomass, or from other natural activities like geothermal and tidal energy. Renewable energies are basically a gift to humans from the nature since their use doesn’t imply energy that derives from fossil fuels. With the development of the renewable technology people have the opportunity to turn these natural energy sources in electricity, heating, cooling and fuels. IEA (2015) reported that ‘Renewable energy will represent the largest single source of electricity growth over the next five years, driven by falling costs and aggressive expansion in emerging economies’. The expectations of Renewable energy sources are that they can affordably mitigate climate change and promote energy security if governments are willing to minimize the policies uncertainties that are barriers in the greater development (IEA, 2015). Environmental protection is one of the top priorities due to the concerns regarding the global weather and air pollution warming. International agreements are set in order to
