as many people know english is the most widely spoken language in the world or at least the most known but how has english changed in years from old to middle to modern english?Well there are many answers to this and also there are very important reasons.The language isn't spoken only in US is it spoken in many other countries although in the US is were the language seems to be spoken the most along with Spanish.English has changed in the way it is expressed,it has changed in the way it is written and also the meaning and creation of new words has changed.

Because of various dialects, literature had developed, which was where the epic poem, Beowulf, came to be. During their time, the Anglo-Saxons valued many things, including poetry but most importantly there tie to their religion and loyalty to one another.

The three main influences that are affecting “America’s English” language would be Technology, Cultural diversity, and slang. Technology is very influential in “America’s English” because it is both used frequently and used globally. Majority Americans have some sort of connection with technological devices; whether its using a computer, having a smartphone or even watching television shows. Technology now days is considered a very powerful and useful source whether it’s used for stating one opinions and thoughts, or even as a source of communication; it’s even used globally to broadcast weather, and local crimes. Technology is believed to be both a necessity and a means that will help by applying knowledge to applied purposes.

The Anglo-Saxons were people who were from Germanic tribes who migrated to Europe. They achieved dominance in England around 500 A.D. The origin of Anglo-Saxon comes from modern Latin “Anglo-Saxones” and medieval Latin “Angli Saxones” . The accepted modern use of the term "Anglo-Saxon" is when someone is apart of the Germanic tribes.
Languages have always changed and developed over long periods of time. Words and definitions change and eventually reaches a point when a whole new language is formed. When looking back at old writings of a certain language it is plain to see how much a language has changed. One example of this phenomenon is the epic poem Beowulf the first poem to ever be written in English. Despite being in English, it is incompressible compared to modern English meaning that it has to be translated to a more modern version of English.
The United States is a place of freedom. We are a mixing pot that unifies as one. Many religions, cultures, and languages make their home in the Unites States. A person who speaks more than one language is described as being bilingual. As Wayne Thomas and Virginia Collier describe in, “Two Languages are Better Than One,” children who come into school having a first language besides English, tend to struggle. Usually when a child struggles with a particular subject, they are taken out of the main classroom and brought somewhere for a remedial class. But according to Thomas and Collier, in order to help narrow the gap in comprehension, English learners and English speakers need to be kept together in order to be fully enriched in a successful learning
The Modern English language has a rich history, it develops and changes like many other world languages. The English language has mainly been influenced by Latin, Germanic and French over a period of two thousand years. The English Lexicon includes words from over 120 countries, however Latin, Germanic and Latin account approximately less than 30% each. The English language is second to none in the variety and amount of lexical words. The most penetrating influence on English in history is French during the Middle English period after the Norman conquests.
