PART 2 – ISSUES / PROBLEMS OF THE CASE STUDY The idea that the founders of “Environfit” have, indeed is a brilliant idea, whereby their aims of venturing into his business are; improve the air quality and taxi drivers’ income, especially in developing country with high rate of air pollution, by creating a technology to be placed into the two-stroke motorcycles’ engine. However, even though it is a good idea in terms of to improve Philippines’ air quality and help the “Tuk tuk” driver to earn more with the technology that the founder of “Envirofit” invented, they do face a few problems in implementing it and market it in the Philippines. The idea of having “Environfit” will for sure help lots of the “Tuk-tuk” drivers. But the problem arose; when the founders found out, even producing one unit for the purpose of demonstration, will cost them a sum of money, not to mention, what about if the produce it in a large scale. The founder’s major concern is that the projected price of the technology they invented cost $220 (Philippines Peso 1121), whereby the “tuk-tuk” drivers majority only make $3-$5 (average Philippines Peso 150 to 250) a day. This is the amount of money they earned after deducted the expenses for fuel. Meaning to say they earned only roughly $150 (Philippines Peso 7600) per month.
