STEWARD AS DESTROYER Environment is our main source for our everyday needs. Environment is our prior provider. Man on the other hand is responsible in taking care of our environment. Man should be the protector of his environment. The relationship between the man and the environment has been established in the early periods itself. Human beings live in the kingdom of nature and interact with it constantly. The influence of nature in the form of the air he breathes, the water he drinks, the food he eats, and the flow of energy and information. Any change in the environment cannot only result in devastating effects, but can also pose a threat to the human race. Equipped with the latest technological tools the economic man has been exploiting the natural resources. The rate of exploitation is alarmingly high. Issues about environment became rampant and is alarming. But who are to be blamed? The human spirit of greed and arrogance is causing the environment to turn into a graveyard. As Williams (2008) stated, humans are causing global warming emissions from vehicles, by building nuclear power plants, using coal as an energy source, etc. Man is not only causing global warming, but we are also causing the extinction of dozens of animals each day because we cut down rain forests and destroy the natural habitat of billions of animals. Another evidence that human is a destroyer of environment is that only humans has the capacity to launch atomic weapons into our atmosphere as tests, which could have ignited the hydrogen in the earth’s atmosphere tearing apart the ozone and killing every human on the planet silently.
