“The Sacred Headwaters is a subalpine basin in northern British Columbia, Canada” (Wikipedia). The Sacred Headwater is ecologically important for several reasons. To begin with, the region has three wild salmon rivers. It also contains many other wild species such as grizzly bears and stone sheep (Wikipedia). More importantly, “The Sacred Headwaters is rich in mineral and energy resources, particularly coal and coalbed methane”(Wikipedia).
Eutrophication, which is excessive richness of nutrients in any form of body of water, frequently due to runoff from the land, which causes a dense growth of plant life and death of animal life from lack of oxygen, is another reason why the creek could be polluted. Fertilizers are used in farming to provide crops with nutrients, but they also play a big role in the Eutrophication process. If too much fertilizer is used, it leaches from the soil in
Ecosystems are something we never think about. We let nature take over it’s way of life. What we don’t realize is that these systems could be corrupt by anything at any given time. This is, unfortunately, an issue in many places, but there is one place in particular. The Everglades, located in Florida.
The incidences On the 2nd day of August 1942, the body of Jose Diaz was found murdered in one of the South East Los Angeles reservoirs that was famously known as the Sleepy Lagoon Reservoir. The incident acted as a trigger to most of the media houses as they focused their attention on addressing the Mexican American boy criminal gangs, their criminal activities, mad the zoot suits that they wore. As such, in trying to get to the rot cause of the murder, the Los Angeles Police ended up questioning an approximated six hundred Chicano youths. Amongst those who were interviewed were Lorena and her brother Louis Encinas who happened to have attended a party near the Sleepy Lagoon the night when the event occurred.
The water supply has a big effect on the Everglades whether it’s good or bad. The water in it is used by animals and 7 million people in Florida. There is a lot of history about the Everglades and its water. Many changes has happened to the Everglades over the years. The water has been polluted by sugarcane factories and many people want to restore it.
The Everglades used to be a beautiful place that was home to many rare endangered species. But thanks to construction, agbusinesses, and draining the Everglades we have destroyed this one beautiful piece of land. To lead off, a mass increase in construction around and in the Everglades lead to a total destruction of it. In “ The Florida Everglades ” it says “ The construction cuts off the flow of fresh water to the Everglades.”
King River, Tasmania Outline the physical features of the King River. The river in Western Tasmania is made by two rivers, Eldon and South Eldon, coming together. It flows down for 52km to Lake Burbury where it goes through a tunnel to a power station. Along the sides of the river you can find huon pines - a type of plant native to Tasmania. The top part of the river lies in a glaciated valley and is surrounded by mountains.
Imagine, the wonderful Everglades getting destroyed bit by bit until it’s gone. The Everglades water supply is slowly trying to recover. The water quality and supply is better than what it was but, still pretty bad. The Everglades water supply is this way because of it’s past history, certain problems, and the issues trying to fix the Everglades. To begin with, the Everglades past history has been bad.
Efforts to clean up pollution are already underway, but the problem of pollution still persists. The Department of Ecology says that “a major contributor of these toxic pollutants entering the Sound is the stormwater that runs off our highways, roads, driveways, roofs, parking lots, disturbed soils, and other developed surfaces” (“Threats to Puget Sound”). When there is rain, the rain
Water Pollution is a huge environmental problem that has serious effects on marine habitats, animals, and water quality. BP1: The world's marine habitat has been getting worse because of how bad the pollution has gotten. “ Over 80% of marine pollution comes from land based activities “ (source 5 ). This quote explains how most of the water pollution is caused by human activity. “ Plastic litter does not degrade, can be expected to last in the oceans for hundreds of years “ ( source 6 ).
LITERATURE REVIEW What is water pollution? As the country is becoming more and more populated, the demands for social services have increased significantly. This has led to an increase of the pollution in many developing towns such as Ga-kgapane. The most disturbing and problematic forms of pollution in Ga-kgapane is the pollution of the natural streams. Water pollution is when there is a build of one or more substances in water to such an extent that it causes problems for animals or plants.
Japan is the one of the world’s developed countries. Japan is also one of the effected countries by the nuclear bomb during Second World War and it is still effecting the population and its environment. The main source of pollution in the country such as Japan doesn’t only arise from industrialization but many other factors. Water is the main sources for human being for survival. With an upcoming development and world’s global climate change are causing many degradation of water and its sources.

Nowadays, environmental degradation has become an important issue. This is because environmental degradation is one of the largest threats that is being looked at in the world today. This is because of the depletion of important resources such as air, water, and soil; the destruction of ecosystems; habitat destruction; the extinction of wildlife; and pollution. To limit the impact of these situations, it is important to know the possible side-effects of environmental degradation. Therefore, there are several causes and negative effects of environmental degradation provided in this essay with some recommendations to prevent it.
Water pollution is a serious issue as not only is water the most precious natural resource, but all sources of water support life that is very necessary for the survival of the planet. Water pollution destroys life and ecology and such damage is irreparable. Those who are still not serious about water pollution must also remember that the pollutants present in water not only destroy the life in the rivers and oceans, but also affect our food chain. Many people have the wrong notion that since they are not disposing the pollutants in the water they are not to blame. These people forget that 70% of the earth is covered by water, and any activity on the land can wash to the seas and oceans.
