INTRODUCTION
Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a useful tool for assisting environmental management. The effects of a proposed project, plan or program on the environment can be studied through EIA. The purpose of EIA is to identify both beneficial and adverse effects of the purposed developmental project, and ensure that adverse effect can be minimized in project design .EMS is also environmental assessing tool ,both are used to identify impact at early stage in project planning and systematically addressing them throughout the project completion. Human and environmental health is always at risk from different chemicals generated in air water and land. The chemical contaminate the land and cause land degradation and other

The main objective of the metro is to link the middle class residential areas with city center and commercial zone (torres, 2008).
The metro bus project delayed from its date and the chance of accident increases, normally if we know that project will extend from its given date extra expenses should be allowed (challal et al, 2012). According to an estimate the accidents in construction site cause financial loss. Every year it cost 10billion USD (khosarvi et al 2014). The area under construction is surrounded by shops, local people and educational institutions. During construction process the people around are under continuous stress of noise and PM pollution mainly. Air and noise pollution affect the population badly and the traffic problem also arises so, the present study aimed at:
• To identify major health problems caused by air and noise pollution at the time of construction process.
• To identify traffic problems that arises at construction site.
• Comparative assessment of health outcomes of exposed and unexposed

Three main factors to this trend in cancer is frequent exposure to environmental carcinogens, inheritance of cancer genes and having a weak immune system. For instance, “ The results of the research indicate that DNA damage does occur in workers exposed to low concentrations of styrene.” (Doc. D) Since workers are frequently being exposed to carcinogens their cells are vulnerable to damage. A majority of these workers that come in contact with these carcinogens work in construction or agricultural fields.
In Spokane, the EPA had created a scientific model that displays that an individual who had their daily diet and water source come from the Blue Creek had a “one in five chance of developing cancer from the added radiation” (Cornwall, 5). Hanford Engineer Works was made up of several hundreds of workers, all which resided in the
“A notable example of the link between disparities in indoor environmental exposures and health effects is childhood lead poisoning attributable to deteriorating lead paint and lead-contaminated soil. ”(p. 1650, Adamkiewicz, et, al) Lead poising is just one example of indoor living conditions that contribute to heath concerns, others consisting of, exposure to pest allergens, second hand smoke, pesticides and other chemical
The term "health hazard" encompasses the following: • Toxicity – is the ability of a substance to cause a harmful effect. Everything is toxic at some point. Even too much WATER can KILL! • Toxicity vs. Dose o Toxicity – level of poison o Dose – amount exposed to o Less the toxicity, greater dose one can tolerate without ill effects o Greater the toxicity, less dose one can tolerate without becoming sick • Acute vs.

In turn, this causes serious health implications. This paper focuses on the social, economic and environmental conditions such as the impacts
One of the most controversial projects for the United States to decide on was whether or not to build the Keystone pipeline. This topic forces the government to decide if economic development is worth the cost of endangering the environment. Though this pipeline will allow the United States to rely less on foreign oil, the pipeline’s lasting effects prove to be a factor that cannot be easily overlooked. The Keystone pipeline should not be built because it endangers the environment and has the ability to create catastrophic damages through pollution and habitat desecration. Pollution is a major factor that has to be considered when referring to the Keystone pipeline.
There are several factors increasing risk of being allergic i.e. what kind of substance it is, what kind of contact it was and the vulnerability of the
Introduction There are many factors which shape health and safety at work and safety culture is one of them. The purpose of this paper is to explore that factors surround safety culture in an organization. Safety culture can be define as internal and external factors which may impact an organisation negatively or positively. Some of those impact can be influence by management commitment, communication, production service demand, competence and employee representative Hughes and Ferrett, (2009).These internal factors can be portrayed differently in business and organisation because of their agenda-setting. Reason for this is that every company has what it would like to accomplish on a daily basis and some of those internal factors can influence the
Review of Literature Environmental issues began to be discussed and debated only towards the end of the 20th century. Since then significant amount of literature has been penned down raising awareness about issues of pollution, deforestation, animal rights and several others however it has failed to result in major changes, ideas or even actions to save the environment. Several species of animals have become extinct; pollution level is at an all-time high, global warming is leading to severe climate changes all across the globe but these problems do not seem to alarm the decision makers. Leydier & Martin (2013) also states that, “despite the increasing expression of concern in political and media debates about issues such as climate change, pollution and threats to biodiversity, “political ecology” (operating at the confluence of scientific developments, political engagement and ethical debates) is still trying to find its bearings” (p.7). It is quite evident that environmental issues are not treated in equivalence to political, economic, social or even religious issues.
THE IMPORTANCE OF HEALTH AND SAFETY IN MINING INDUSTRY Health and safety in the organisation is very important because it helps the employers and employees to reduce accidents, injuries, illness and deaths. M.A. Hermanus (2007) states that injuries and illness have a big social and complications for people, their families and their society. They also have monetary impacts as explicit and implied expenses for society in general. HEALTH AND SAFETY The importance of health and safety in the mining is to make sure that the workers are safe.
Environmental impact assessment is referred to as a policy and management tool for both planning and decision-making (Glasson et al, 2005). This essay will be divided into four sections. The first section
There are many problems that threatens society and one problem in particular, air pollution is a problem that threatens everyone. Air pollution is the contamination of air with pollutants that are harmful to humans, animals, and the environment. It began to be a problem when humans discovered the uses of fire and then the amount of air pollution exponentially grew after the industrial revolution, and is still a problem even today. The largest causes of air pollution are from human activities such as burning of fossil fuels and gas emissions from manufacturing plants. There are ways that ordinary people can help contribute to prevent air pollution and or else face the dangerous consequences of polluted air.
