Question 1
Environment is ‘The surroundings and influences on living things including humans’
In my opinion the most important environmental issues today are global warming, overpopulation, waste disposal, deforestation and threats to biodiversity.
Global issue: Global warming is causing changes in climates around the world, extreme weather patterns are taking effect meaning that in some cases there is more frequent floods and in other cases more frequent droughts. These extreme weather patterns are destroying agricultural zones, making them unusable, affecting global food supplies. Another issue with global warming is the rising temperatures are melting the polar ice sheets causing the sea level to rise; coastal regions are most vulnerable

Another negative environmental effect of deforestation is that forests are habitats for many species, by destroying them it is also destroying their ecosystems meaning the dependence that species have with the forests.
(d)
The article is taken from the New York times and its purposes are to illustrate that the drought in Sao Paolo are linked to environmental issues such as deforestation, pollution and population growth. Worth noting, it illustrates that poor infrastructures play a big role in the problem, as a country so rich in fresh water should not have problems with droughts. Poor decisions by local governments and their negligence about problems have increased the problem dramatically.

Question 4
(a)
I find that environmental issues concerning our world today are very important and quite interesting at the same time. By studying this module, I believe that my knowledge of the subject will be enriched, furthermore lots of questions I have about the matters will be
(Document 3) In Brazil, many people are moving into the Amazon. Brazil does not have the resources to supply the entire population because of urbanization. The people that moved to the Amazon started cutting down trees, which led to the deforestation of the Amazon. Animals are not only the ones living in the forest, but humans live there too.
Subject- Deforestation affects majority of the population, including people and animals, across the nation and in my community. Situation or Problem- Deforestation is the action of eliminating trees, in forests, by cutting them down. The objective of deforestation is to create more land for construction and land establishments with the idea of not restoring thee trees back or replacing them. How it affects my community- Deforestation can disrupt the homes of many animals, including birds and fish.
One reason the earth's temperature increasing is the most important effect of climate change is the lack of resources. Document G states, "Portion of inhabited islands where drinking water must be desalinated because the sea has flooded groundwater aquifers is more than 1/3," (DG). Document G also states, "Number of islands submerged every year is 3."
The Brazilian Amazon is home to 40% of the world’s tropical rainforest. Incidentally, it also has the world’s fastest rate of deforestation. Tropical Rainforests around the world are lost at the rate of one acre per second with the average rate of Brazilian Amazon being such that 2 million hectares of forest land are cleared every year. There are multiple causes for this extensive rate of deforestation and this paper will address four such causes namely (1) rapid population growth, (2) industrial logging and mining, (3) changing spatial patterns of deforestation, and (4) wildfires. Moreover, there are several Brazilian state policies that encourage deforestation practices of which this paper will look at five key aspects – (1) taxes on agricultural income, (2) rules of land allocation, (3) land taxes, and (4) tax credit schemes and subsidized credits.
IMPACTS OF GLOBAL WARMING ON THE ENVIRONMENT SLINDILE.C MAZIBUKO 215011983 UNIVERSITY OF KWAZULU NATAL WESTVILLE CAMPUS DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA ABSTRACT One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. It is evident that there is climate change around the world. In recent years, we have so many unusual hurricanes, typhoons, floods, droughts and earthquakes. Plants and animals that lived in the cold climates are now disappearing.
2. Brief analysis/warrant (How/Why this is important?)This shows how if we continue to pollute our atmosphere by emitting greenhouse gases such as carbon into our atmosphere, it will cause more natural disasters which will be more severe due to the rising temperatures which will allow for more severe storms, which is all a result from emissions. II. Conclusion A. Restate Thesis to remind the audience of your position: It can be said from the previous examples that global warming and climate change are both caused by human emission of greenhouse gases which result in consequences such as warmer temperatures and severe natural disasters.
Finally, the sea level rise and flooding is a big problem people-wise. Flooding causes millions in damage that sometimes cannot be reversed. Flooding is encouraged by climate change because of the increase in moisture trapped in the air, and rain happening earlier in the year and falling on still frozen ground. Houses being destroyed by increased water also leave people homeless and cost a lot to fix. Climate change will cause more natural disasters such as flooding, tornadoes and
Global warming can cause many changes in our environment. Polar ice caps can start to melt which can cause rising sea levels and can easily lead to coastal flooding on the eastern seaboard. There can also be affects on the types of storms that can occur if global warming continues. Scientists say that category three storms can turn into a more dangerous category fours. Farms and cities will face new pests, heatwaves, heavy downpours, and increased flooding.
Consequences of global warming Global warming is causing the glaciers to melt specially in rise in sea level would destroy the plants and other species as the area would get over-flooded. The animals would die from hunger due to the deterioration of forests and plants. Ultimately the people who have survived the flood and heat would suffer at the hands of hunger as the only two sources of food we have would get destroyed due to global warming.
When large storms hit land with these increased sea levels it causes large storm surges that can destroy anything in its paths. If temperatures continue to rise other natural disasters could occur ("Global Warming Will Produce More Katrina-Like Storms"). A warmer wetter atmosphere could spawn more tropical storms and there will be floods in places that do not get much rainfall. Humans could prevent these problems if they were to cut down on the use of fossil fuels and use more renewable energy. Renewable energy consists of wind, solar, and lunar power.
Argumentative Essay Zeena Morar 12J Climate change is currently being felt around the world and unless the developed world makes substantial changes to its selfish ways, we are all doomed to face the fires of hell on earth. One third of the earth’s land is currently threatened as what we do to the air, land and water affects the balance of ecosystems and ultimately the world. The developed world uses wood for mining, building, furniture and paper. Saw and paper mills that are used to create these products, pollute the air and water.
The effects of the climate change are undeniable in the scientific research. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and other meteorological organizations measures the temperature of the earth on the daily basis and has indicated the potential increase. Furthermore, the dramatic decline in ice and glaciers in the North and South Pole verify the rising temperature and its impact on the sea level. It should be noted that from last decade, the sea level has been increased due to melting of the ice that ocean currently pose a threat (Shrestha, Babel, & Pandey,
Now another natural cause of global warming is the rising of the seas. The biggest reason for sea level rising is that global warming is causing the air to be warmer and that 's causing glaciers and ice-caps to melt. Sea level rise would affect about 11 out of the 15 biggest cities in the world. The reason this is happening because gases are being released into the atmosphere which is causing the temperatures to rise, which causes the seas to rise. Sea level rising means more money that we have to spend for people living on the coastlines because coastal populations are growing and people are crowding into coastal areas and that area could be underwater in a few years if sea levels keep rising how they have been.
One of the greatest issues that we face towards the environment has been an increasingly difficult problem over the last few years. Earths climate is changing at rapid paces and solutions are needed as quickly as possible to replenish natural ecosystems and cultures that depend on the environment. Climate change not only affects the animals in our ecosystem, but us humans as well. With the human population increasing every year, climate change is only getting worse. Many argue that the effects of climate change towards the environment are due to other extraneous factors, however, I myself am a strong believer that the problems such as rising sea levels, warmer temperatures and natural disasters are all due to both natural causes and human activity.
Rising sea levels and higher temperature, dangerous rainstorms and droughts are going up commonly. When the temperature increases, the ice will melt at the North Pole. This result leads to the effect that sea levels
