There are different and various environmental issues facing the world today. Some of these issues if not addressed would lead to the downfall of numerous ecosystems and the planet as a whole. Due to increased expansion and urbanization humans have assumed a greater role in shaping the planets environment as people have used the planets resources, but such expansions brings up its own natural problems that is affecting our world today. However, certain changes need to be made to safeguard the world for future generations. Some changes are reversible like for example Deforestation, if trees are cut down and replaced again it is good for the natural environment in the way of preventing erosion and giving out of oxygen, but in certain circumstances …show more content…
To solve this problem effectively, poor and rich country must work together and cooperate with each other on how to bring up solutions to these environmental problems. Climate change is the long-term rise in average temperatures of the earth. The Earth 's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last few years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the sudden end of the last ice age about 7,000 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era — and of human civilization. The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is very likely human-induced and it is proceeding at a uncontrollable rate. It causes Rise in Sea level which Global sea level rise unprecedentedly in the 10 years. The rate currently in this few years, however, is nearly double that of the last century. It leaves low lying countries like the Netherlands, Micronesia and small pacific islands at risk of being completely swallowed by the sea. As of now certain countries are vanishing in a twinkle of an
Unlike humans trying to reconnect back to nature, we rather seem to want to create an artificial nature in our cage of industrious lives. Regrettably, this author 's call to save the environment has not been fully applied, as of today humans are still releasing toxins into the environment at the highest rate in history, occupying forests with building in the name of owning something, in places such as Antarctica, the polar bears are starving, even worst humans had it illegal to feed them while they are exploding and destroying their homes, the seas-fishes are iced up, just to name a few reasons why connecting back to nature is critical. Although green activists such as Ecosia have been working on restoring the environment, however, more needs to be done. We must see to it that nature bounces back to its full
Almost anyone who will read this essay has undoubtedly heard of the climate phenomenon Global warming. Global warming is a topic that gets discussed very often nowadays, most notably during political debate and discussion. Politicians use certain stances on global warming to appeal to voter’s emotions and logic in order to gain votes and support for their campaign, however climate change is nothing new, during the past several hundred thousand years the Earth has heated up and cooled down and even experienced so called “ice ages”, which is a period where glacial deposits located at the northern and southern hemispheres have grown due to dramatic global cool downs. Don’t be confused by climate terminology though, the global warming so widely
This paper has great ethos, it gives an example of what is to come if we do not care for our environment and people. The paper states, “Once the battle is lost...man can not wonder at nature; his spirit will wither and his sustenance be wasted” (Lyndon B. Johnson).
Climate change is an irreversible consequence of the damage we do to our Earth. If we do not change our ways, the global temperature will swell, causing an unchangeable series of events, consecrating detriments onto all the existence upon Earth. In only about 140 years, the average global temperature has increased 0.8 degrees celsius, and the ramification is the irreparable destruction of the place where we and millions of other species live. The most important consequence of climate change is the global increase in temperature and how that is affecting various animal species all over the Earth, the health of humans, and the rapid rise of sea level.
Climate change is happening at a really fast pace. One of the affected areas is the Arctic and the Arctic life. Climate change is the change in weather patterns over a long period of time caused by global warming. Global warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth 's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. Ever since the industrial revolution, the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has increased drastically.
When large storms hit land with these increased sea levels it causes large storm surges that can destroy anything in its paths. If temperatures continue to rise other natural disasters could occur ("Global Warming Will Produce More Katrina-Like Storms"). A warmer wetter atmosphere could spawn more tropical storms and there will be floods in places that do not get much rainfall. Humans could prevent these problems if they were to cut down on the use of fossil fuels and use more renewable energy. Renewable energy consists of wind, solar, and lunar power.
With deforestation being one of these roles because when we chop down these trees and plants of where animals habitats our it also releases a lot of carbon dioxide into the air. And if you didn’t know forests are major carbon storage centers, when deforestation happens all the carbon dioxide that is stored in these forests; is released back into the atmosphere. Deforestation not only contributes to changes in the climate, it also causes localized changes in the weather. Trees transpire, or release water into the atmosphere, during photosynthesis. This water replenishes clouds and maintains rainfall.
Good morning/afternoon all. An influence is something that has had an effect on character or behaviour of someone. There have been many influences that have affected my life, though there are four main influences that have primarily affected my life in different ways. My main influences are my family, the environment, science, and technology. These have affected my past, present, and future.
In the earth we share and spend our life with the humans, animals, and plants even the inanimate , and from our unity consist the life and vibrancy. Every element is important to maintain a normal life, every one of them dependent on the other to be together to make a model of continuous life. one of the leading human responsibilities save the natural resources of the land like creatures that dramatically affect each series and even one component can affect the life cycle.
Throughout history Earth`s climate has changed a lot, and there is a lot of evidence that shows how humans have contributed to this changed and effected the Earth. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advances, the increase in the thickness and area of a glacier. As well as glacial retreats, a condition occurring when backward melting at the front of a glacier takes place at a rate exceeding forward motion. Most climate changes are attributed to very small variations in the earth`s orbit, that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives. The 21st century has seen the most temperature records broken in recorded history.
To become a sustainable society, we must eliminate our contributions to: No1. The increase of concentrations of substances extracted from the Earth’s crust (heavy metals and fossil fuels) No2. The increase of concentrations of substances produced by society (plastics, dioxins and DDT) No3. The physical degradation of nature and natural processes (harvesting forests and destroying habitat)
Climate change is a change in global or provincial climate that changes over a time span of many years. Weather can change in just a few hours, But Climate change takes hundreds or even millions of years to change. Climate change is happening all around us. Whether it is the global temperature rise or the melting of the polar ice caps, it is happening.
Review of Literature Environmental issues began to be discussed and debated only towards the end of the 20th century. Since then significant amount of literature has been penned down raising awareness about issues of pollution, deforestation, animal rights and several others however it has failed to result in major changes, ideas or even actions to save the environment. Several species of animals have become extinct; pollution level is at an all-time high, global warming is leading to severe climate changes all across the globe but these problems do not seem to alarm the decision makers. Leydier & Martin (2013) also states that, “despite the increasing expression of concern in political and media debates about issues such as climate change, pollution and threats to biodiversity, “political ecology” (operating at the confluence of scientific developments, political engagement and ethical debates) is still trying to find its bearings” (p.7). It is quite evident that environmental issues are not treated in equivalence to political, economic, social or even religious issues.
Researches show that the average temperature of the planet has been changed during the last decades, as a result, many problems join with it and climate change is considered as the biggest problem around the world. Climate change is one of the results of global warming and it has so many negative disadvantage impacts on earth, including; increasing the events of natural
Balance of natural processes like pollution is crucial to the survival of the eco-system and human activity threatens the same. Another example is the destruction of coral reefs in the various oceans, which support the rich marine life. •
