GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES (0457)
Issue 2 (less resources and impact on us):
Research shows that currently, we are using 25% of the natural resources which will affect the life of species e.g. plants and animals. This will in turn affect the ecosystem of our world and hamper agriculture and no fresh water etc. According to IUCN the monetary value of goods and services provided by ecosystem is estimated to amount $33 trillion per year. This is too much! The US GDP in 2008 was $14.4 trillion. For European Union in the same year it was $14.94 trillion! It’s not only about money it’s about saving lives. At least 40% of economy and 80% of needs of people is derived from biological resources.
A biodiversity provides us with protection

Biodiversity has contributed greatly to the society. It is indeed true that we are interdependent on biodiversity and its loss means our harm. Indeed, in my survey at school, I found out that most people are unaware of resource shortage issue. Every country has its own perspective, taste and view. In accordance to my question, biodiversity and ecosystem loss affects us a lot and we, being a united society should stand up against this issue and help in regeneration of endangered species and use resources carefully with recycling and reusing. I have also learned that if the extinction of species continues, the world is going to end one day. About 1 to 5 species are extinct each year. This report affected my personal perspective by changing it and now I got to know the significance of the biodiversity issue and myself devoted myself to conserving species and resources as much as I can through recycling and reusing and preventing hunting. All the evidence provided above to support my argument helped me realize how quickly we were losing species and created awareness in my mind. The world therefore, also needs to work a lot for their welfare, and of every species present so we can make this world a healthy, safe place to live
The overall message of the documentary was to illustrate why Leopold is considered the most influential conservationist in the 20th century. This documentary seeks to explain why Aldo Leopold’s ideas were so ahead of his time and could link generations together. It tempts to provide people with a reason to take care of the land and raise the awareness of the
Evaluating The Sixth Extinction’s Conclusion Throughout The Sixth Extinction, author Elizabeth Kolbert explains how several different natural species have gone extinct or seen their populations dwindle. Each section is unique: no species dies the same way. Kolbert elaborates how extinction has never been uniformitarian or catastrophist but rather a combination of the two. Consequently, the last chapter effectively demonstrates the tragedy of an anthropogenic based extinction but fails to express any urgency or necessity in conjunction with prior sections.
This is another organization 's words that is mirroring what DU is saying, except for they are speaking about a wider range of animals. Not only DU but many other organizations are in the process of helping wildlife, but no help is too small. (Kleine)(Conservation
Introduction This research project is based on studying the public’s response to Climate Central Risk Finder tool for client Dan Rizza. Climate central is an independent nonprofit that organizes and collects information on sea level rise and communicates it to the coastal communities. The risk finder tool is a tool that helps narrow all the complex information down to a more graspable form so the public can understand. This study will be testing how accessible this form of communication is to the public.
The government has passed many conservation policies to protect animals, eco-systems, plants and trees itself and indigenous people’s way of life, but many of these policies get overlooked and require a lot of extra work. How it affects the rest of the world- This action is permanent, and all of the world is targeted as a potential setting for deforestation. It is predicted that the continuing action may result in very few rainforest across the entire globe. Cutting trees can also be harmful to our ozone layer, which protects earth from dangerous radiation.
In an effort to ensure effective comprehension and validity, it is important to rely on credible sources and avoid making unsubstantiated claims. Finally, all messages should include a clear call to action, encouraging the audience to take specific steps to support conservation efforts. Providing practical suggestions for ways that individuals can get involved, such as volunteering or making a donation, can help to increase engagement and mobilize action. By using this writing knowledge and skills, members of the wildlife protection community can help to inspire others to take action and
This paper has great ethos, it gives an example of what is to come if we do not care for our environment and people. The paper states, “Once the battle is lost...man can not wonder at nature; his spirit will wither and his sustenance be wasted” (Lyndon B. Johnson).
Improving what we currently are trying to save such as extinction can comply with our community to help form a strong bond between themselves and animals. Have we stopped fighting for the loss of these animals? The answer is no. Continuing, humanity has gathered for many possible solutions to conserve what many find to be saving our
Jane Goodall, a primatologist, ethologist, and anthropologist, explains that the greatest risk to our future is lacking enthusiasm and concern about its outcome. Considering Goodall is extremely environmentally keen, it is more than likely she is emphasizing this towards the future of the entire ecosystem, including plants and animals, rather than only the future of the human race. She explains that if the human race falls to a deficiency of caring about our environment, it can and will lead to a vast threat to the future of the world’s ecosystem. Often humans forget about the importance of the ecosystem and instead we become caught up in ourselves and our own individual needs. Goodall is stressing that if these egotistical human acts continue to occur, the future of our ecosystem is in jeopardy.
According to Nebel and Wright, “four basic principles are essential for achieving a sustainable ecosystem, the goal of the environmental movement. They are: (1) recycling elements in order to dispose of wastes and replenish nutrients; (2) using solar energy; (3) maintaining the size of consumer populations to prevent overgrazing; and (4) maintaining biodiversity.” An ecological emergency can happen when any of these domains are settled with compromise. While people are destroying the tropical rainforests, they don’t realize that they are destroying 40% of the world’s supply of oxygen. 40 million acres of tropical rainforest are being lost annually to deforestation and humans destroying the Earth.
We could provide clean drinking water to 437,472,251 (about 400 million) people, pay 2,393,436 (about 2 million) people’s college tuition fees, raise 129,368 (about 130 thousand) kids
National Wildlife Federation is a wildlife organization founded by Ding Darling. The Wildlife Federation works to protect the ecosystem that is crucial to the native wildlife. The National Wildlife Federation took part in the passing of clean water act, clean air act, and endangered species act. In 2007 the water resources development act was successfully passed thanks to the help of the Wildlife Federation.
One can also argue that businesses and companies take up most of our two most essential resources i.e water and energy, especially production companies. For example, one hamburger consumes 2,400 litres of water to produce, more land required for monoculture plantations such as soya beans or timber. Afghanistan and Latin America are examples of overpopulated countries in which due to inefficient government policies the countrymen has to suffer. Most people are malnourished, unemployed and homeless. Clearly there’s an imbalance basic human rights.
Imagine you live in a world where there are no plants, forest, animals, or oceans all there is in where these things us to be is concrete, landfills of garbage, and buildings. This is what will transpire if we do not protect or wildlife, wildlife conservation is a very important situation as it helps keeps plants and animals off the endangered list. According to the World Wild Life organization there are twenty-six endangered animals and twenty-one critically endangered animals this is very overwhelming as animals are an important part of our environment and ecosystem. With human population increasing at an alarming rate, with the growing rate of humans there is going to be less land for animals and plants, more man-made pollution and plastic debris will go into the oceans, lakes, and streams.
Animals in Their New Natural Habitat Why are different species becoming extinct? Do researchers know how many innocent animals are killed each year? When will animals be protected in a comfortable habitat? In man-made environments, such as zoos and other nature parks, animals that are born in the wild are protected and well taken care of. Due to animals running around in the wild, scientists and researchers can track the amount of animals being killed everyday.
