The problem with all of this is that most people believe that women are only good for domestic work. As i mentioned earlier, the fact them seen as domestic workers causes that they are not to be seen for their work potential or their university studies. As well as many of them are seen as sexual objects. In general women do not get paid less because they want to, the reality is that gender equality in the workplace still does not benefit women and probably never will, this cause women to accept a job knowing that it is more likely that they will not have the same salary as men. Women are more qualified, and their workday is up to ten hours more per week than that of a man.
Since women do the majority of agricultural work and domestic work, men gain power by marrying as many women as possible (Bledsoe, 1976:376). Since the husband legally gets the outcomes of the productive and reproductive services of the wife, he needs to have a wife to gain power and wealth. Although this patrilineal ownership is not an indication of great legal rights for women in marriage, it does give women the bargaining chip to socially negotiate power. Since men do not produce themselves, their position in society and wealth are largely dependent on marrying. (Bledsoe; 1976:377).
Most cultures have tended to use men for these high-risk, high payoff slots. Some men reap big rewards, and others flop, fail and even die. Most shield their women from risks and also don't give them big rewards." Moreover, it is important to add post-feminism to the mix of what keeps creeps like Weinstein in business. Post-feminism preaches the modern woman is emancipated, equality has been achieved and hence she is free to personalize her life choices.
Although in the United States women are allowed an education, it isn’t the same everywhere else. Women are allowed to work but men are still seen as the providers of a family. Women are becoming more independent, but many men still believe that they have power over women. Although women these days can get an education, work for themselves, and become independent, patriarchy is still present. Women are still getting harassed and sexually controlled, as seen through the #MeToo movement.
In the past, there is no doubt that women were being treated unfairly and live as an inferior to men who count themselves as a superior. Women were not allowed to get education nor had a chance to go to work in the society because they believe that women are born to complete indoor work likes doing the housework or looking after children. However, as the times have passed women nowadays have an equal right just like the men do. Therefore, we strongly support that gender equality policies at the work place should be supported based on a number of reasons including receiving the positive outcome of business, following the Gender Equality Act and promoting Feminism. First of all, promoting gender equality between man and women at the workplace has given a positive overall outcome to business sector .
They were not allowed to vote while men took care of having jobs and paying any bills that had to be paid. Time has progressed and evolved that it has made and equal opportunity for women to not only run the household, work, make daily decisions for family and society, oversee the money. Women have sustained rough criticism within everything that may go in the world but are pushed by the drive to succeed. The role of women in society has been greatly overseen in the last few decades but now are coming to a more perspective to
Women in the early 1900’s didn’t have very much economic freedom. They were restricted on almost everything they did. They weren’t allowed in the workplace like their partners were so for women to make it, they had to be married. Now, however, women have economic equality with their partners. This can lead to a variety of failed marriages with both partners trying to reach success.
Domestic labour – housewives Women have always been allocated as economically dependent on men. They have also been destined to domestic work, either at staying home, being a housewife or either by doing a job that has to do with domestic work. In addition, even employers have the same views of work for women and when it comes to employability, they tend to hire men for jobs that have nothing to do with domestic work. However, the real fact is that a woman who has a salary can manage her life in a better way than a woman who is dependent on a man. The real problem about women, who are actually in domestic work, is that this type of labour is often undervalued and this is shown by the fact that when they are housewives and perform a type
Married women and single women wanted to work together but people did not let them. Women in the 1930s were expected to do housework and could not find jobs easily outside of the home, but women organized into volunteers groups devoted to improving the living and working conditions of other women. Women were having a hard time getting a job. Women worked long hours for low wages in the 1930s. The depression caused wages to drop lower so more women can join and not meet the basic expenses (Working Women in the 1930s).
