EQUALITY IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND Good afternoon my dearest classmates and of course to you ma’am Generoso. Martin Luther king once said in his speech at Lincoln memorial last August 28,1963 “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of it’s creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.” Equality is a situation in which we all humans should have equal rights, status and opportunities for any gender, age, religion and caste should not result to unequal treatment under the law and should not minimize the opportunity of an individual unjustifiably. Gender inequality most especially among women is one of the most precise example for it. Yes, some of you might think that this agenda is tiring, boring and redundant but let’s face reality most women suffers from different harassment , violence and imbalance in the industry. Women are being abused not just mentally but also physically. Women are being pulled down in the industry just like some of the companies are just accepting men for the skilled work because they have doubts in the capabilities and abilities of women. Some also hire women so that they can save more because they will pay women much lower money than men thus labor standards should now be enforced to be equal in every country. It is stated in the labor code of the Philippines that every employee disregard of gender should be treated fairly and equally.
