Above all, in Anthem there is many different thoughts that can determine your reputation, and with those thoughts come actions. Equality chooses to make the wrong actions determined by his thoughts and it causes him to think the society’s rules are not how Equality thinks that they should be. As stated in Anthem, “For we did not understand what had made us do this, and we were afraid to understand it” (Rand, 1995, p. 58).
