Introduction This essay will assess the impact on Ericsson and stakeholders in relocating manufacturing to less economically developed countries in the beginning of 2015. It is very important to recognize what could happen to Ericsson’s corporate image when moving a factory from Sweden to Poland. It is important to investigate how Ericsson handled the relocation from a human resource (HR) perspective. Ericsson has gotten a good reputation over the years just because they have been innovative in mobile system technology, being the largest holder of standard essential patents for mobile communication. Because of their good innovation a merge with Sony occurred and made the name ‘Ericsson’ even more familiar for people. Another strength that Ericsson has is that they have a very strong and innovative Research and Development (R&D) department. The R&D department has 37,000 patents and consists of 25,700 people, working in the company and other groups working outwards and taking ideas and being even more creative to come up with something even newer and better. The R&D department may even go back and look at old projects and see if parts can be taken from that project into a new project.
