Ernest Hemingway was a famous American Author that used the tragic events from his past to connect with many readers across the world. His works helped influenced many writers and readers during the World War I aftermath (Poetry Foundation). After taking his life in 1961, Hemingway was able to leave a huge impact on the literary and social world (Akers). Not only was he an important figure in the literary world, but he was also associated with many other well-known authors such as Ezra Fitzgerald, Ezra Pound, Gertrude Stein and many others. Ernest Hemingway became well-known for discussing controversial topics in his works such as his views on abortions, marriage, war, and other topics. Due to Ernest Hemingway’s tragic moments in his life, he was able to express himself through his stories which would be controversial for years to come. Ernest Hemingway was born in Oak Park, Illinois on July 21st, 1899. He was one of six children of Clarence and Grace Hemingway (Daniels). Before Ernest Hemingway’s success as a world wide author, he found his passion for writing while writing for his high school’s newspaper, “The Trapeze” (Atkers). After graduating high school, he found a job as a journalist for the “Kansas City Star” (Atkers). While he enjoyed his work as a journalist, World War I required many of america 's attention, forcing him to become an ambulance driver during the war.
