People who are over 18 years old are given the right as adults in the society, gradually leaving their parents to design and take responsibility for their own lives. Back in the pre-modern society, the process of becoming an adult was short and simple. However, since the modern society, the process of becoming an adult has begun to become more and more complicated. Until school education became universal, children who did not go to school quickly adapted to society and became adults sooner. However, when school education became universalized, the adolescence period was extended naturally and the time of becoming an adult was delayed. The school is a place to prepare to be an adult, but it is also a slow-growing incubator and moratorium device. …show more content…

According to the time schedule the school and its parents have created and how to take a test well technic lectures in hakwon makes adolescents to think and feel by themselves. They do not have the opportunity to experience various worlds in the life of home, school, and school. Adolescents who grow up are more likely to have difficulty in transition to adults. This is because it is difficult to cultivate the ability of autonomous life and the ability to cooperate with others who are different from me, two important qualities required of adults. Therefore, it is important to help youth develop these two capacities in adolescence in order to help young adolescents perform smooth adulthood. The ability of life to coexist with others in the society of autonomous life ability or diversity is strongly raised through actual life training rather than cognitive education. It is therefore important to provide a number of experiences that will enable these capacities to be developed in schools and homes that have the greatest impact on adolescents. In other words, it is necessary for the school and the family to become a society with diversity for the youth, so as to become a place for the youth to exercise their self-life and
“Act your age,” a common reprimand we have all heard or been told at one point in our lives. Many people believe that getting older guarantees a higher level of maturity. However, someone’s maturity does not depend on their age, but rather on their environment and mentality. Not all children are raised in a perfect and loving family; some children are forced to “grow up” faster due to difficult family situations. Children are heavily impacted by the environment they were raised in, for it affects people’s mind psychologically, thus causing different levels of maturity in each individual.
Maturation is a natural phenomenon experienced by everyone. It starts from the day birth and continues until death. Although this process is natural and will happen inevitably, different people in a person’s life can hasten it. For example, a person can be spurred away from home by his family and forced to mature prematurely. As well, someone could say something to make one see the world a different way.
At some point in their life every human is considered mature and forced to take on adult-like responsibilities and face actual
Arnett has provided enough detail about the stage and how it is successful in some cultures compare to the other. This article has also shown how emerging adulthood stage helps prepare adolescence for better future and help them explore their identity while getting them ready for adulthood. Sasse begins to argue that teens sometimes become quite lethargic when it comes to advancing into adulthood. He states that teens are "not obligated to immediately become emotionally, morally, and financially adult" (Sasse par. 8). This explains the issues many teens face today. This is an issue that will affect them and the nation.
A child’s education is affected by various elements such as gender, race, environment, economic factors, privilege, and more. These elements shape the outcome of a student’s educational experience and learning. They also determine what and how students will learn. In order to create an appropriate learning environment, there should be a sense of community. In other words, the common goal should be helping students succeed and reach their maximum potential.
There always comes a moment in a person 's life when one has to grow up, which is sometimes known as coming of age. The period is characterized by a young person who undergoes transition into an adult stage, thus learning to act and live like an adult. While the process of development occurs naturally as an individual advance of his age, it can also be influenced by occurrences, which force the person to grow faster. In most instances, the societal forces force a child to mature faster since one is acquainted with the responsibilities of an adult. For instance, during the civil war era, young people were forced into military so that they can join the war, this taking up the role of adults in the society.
In recent years, it has become more and more apparent that the adolescents of today are unfit for the responsibilities currently available to them. Equipping someone who is unable to fathom the risks of the decisions they make with the power to put themselves and others in danger is far too precarious. For this reason, the age at which adolescents become adults currently established is dangerously low. The age of legal adulthood should be 25, because at this age young adults are truly capable of comprehending the consequences of their actions and are able to handle the responsibilities of adulthood.
They feel that they are not ready to fulfill the responsibilities and expectations to be an adult. However, one cannot avoid entering adulthood for
As adolescences enter adulthood, they enter a long transitional period, often known as “emerging adult”. This transitional period takes place over a range of 18 to 25 years old (Santrock, 2013). At this stage, emerging adults are still in exploration in the various aspect of life such as the career path they are interested in, defining their identities and a style of living they would want to adopt. Thus, adolescences who are in transition will be caught with many intense changes and will experience major life events that are all of great importance.
As children are able to differentiate themselves from their parents they begin to recognize the difference between them and others. Also, between the ages of 17-22 there is a transitional period of about five years from pre adulthood to young adulthood. At this point, the affiliations with family begin to change as people begin to assert themselves in the adult world (Levinson, 1986, p. 5). Next, is the early adulthood stage that goes from 17-45. Levinson states, “It is the adult era of greatest energy
It is the period where most developments such as physical changes, social developments, and developments of moral reasoning take place. A substantial amount of cognitive development also takes place at this stage. As such, parents and guardians should relax childhood restrictions and allow their children to be more involved in making decisions that affect their lives. However, as some of the teenagers might not have established commitments to a particular identity, parents should retain their roles as sources of support, guidance, and comfort to their
Some teenagers are having sex. Some teenagers start working during this time. Some teenagers later in adolescences start college application and prepare for graduations. I believe that the adolescence stage covers so much and is a huge transition. I decided to talk about several important changes
