Ethnic and family concepts are important for Chinese people. People think that if everyone has a harmonious family, then the country will also be getting better. A country is like a big family. According to the book Chinese Culture, "Respecting and taking care of the aged parents is regarded as an obligatory duty in China. Chinese people believe that only those who are concerned with and practice filial devotion to their parents would be honest, faithful, and be grateful to others and seek ways to return their kindness" (Lao, 2007, P.19) To respect parents is the basic factor to achieve a harmonious family and is also the basic factor to have a harmonious country.
The Chinese family is relatively more conservative than the American family.

This is also the way to show respect to parents. The classic story is Hua Mulan. In the Song Dynasty, a young girl, Hua Mulan, disguised herself as her father to join the army. It was because Hua Mulan 's father was too old, and Hua Mulan was worried that her father would die in the war, so she did that.

The Great Wall is one of the important symbol of China. The entire Great Wall structure spans some 5,500 miles from the Korean border west into the Gobi Desert. According to the book, Great Wall of China: Beijing & Northern China, "The order for the first Great Wall was given by the first unifier of China, Emperor Qi Shi in 221 BC. Qi Shi wanted a Great Wall built to protect the unification he had fought so long to secure." (T, 2006, p.3)
The Great Wall has been rebuilt, maintained, and enhanced over various dynasties. Therefore, this amazing ancient architecture was done by a lot of different family. A rare ancient military defense project in the history of human construction to resist aggression from abroad. It is not only a majestic ancient building but is also a symbol of bringing stability and happiness to Chinese
