Thailand is an under-development country. The poor quality education, poverty, and inequality in the society can lead to many problems in the country. Most Thais tend to judge people by their social position, so people want to get rich and be accepted by the society. People find many ways to be wealthy, some work hard for money but some of them use short-cuts ways such as corruption. Corruption happens in most businesses, governments, the bureaucracy, and the justice system. Most people are corrupt or an accept corruption have become normal in Thailand. Anyone can be corrupt in any positions in all circumstances. He was the first Thai prime minister in history to lead an elected government through a full term in office. He was famous among the people but unpopular among Bangkok’s rich upper class. When he was Prime Minister, Thailand’s Corruption Commission found that he had failed to declare his wealth and his family also avoided paying tax. After then, he had corrupted in Thai government and leave the debt for Thailand about 4,800 millions dollar. In that time, the country was chaos, which causes the protest in Bangkok, the coup and the politicized judiciary. Moreover there were also many problems in economics and political section. Thaksin Shinawatra used his high state official position to try to influence all the media, as mass media have become an important part of Thai society. Now Thaksin had divorced his wife and spent most of his time in Dubai. In Thaksin Shinawatra’s case, it is the big problem, which happened in Thailand in over 20 years. It shows how complicated the problem of corruption in a country be like and how hard to be handle. Corruption affects our lives, society and economy. The corruption has affects both major and minor effect on the economic, which have a serious impact on the individual community and country. First, corruption leads to the depletion of national wealth. It causes increased costs of goods and services, the funneling of scarce public resources to uneconomic high profile projects at the expense such as schools, hospitals and roads. Moreover, it causes inflation and imbalanced economic development in market structures which cause economic delay in growth. This leads to delays in investments and starting of industries.
