Movie At Home Vs Movie Theater Essay

Movies have become a pastime for people of all ages, all around the world. Almost everyone likes seeing movies, whether they prefer action, drama, comedy, or another genre. When it comes to where to watch a movie, people have to decide whether they want to watch it at home, or at a movie theater. Going to the movie theatres and watching a movie at home or online have some slight similarities, but they differ greatly between the cost, surroundings and comfort level.

The first difference between watching a movie at home and going to the theatre is the cost. When watching at home, you most likely pay for the subscription-based movie service (like Netflix) or the movie on dvd or blu-ray. If you use Netflix, Hulu, etc. you can watch more than one movie for less than the price that you pay in the cinema. If you desire food, you can eat whatever you want, and not spend your whole paycheck at the movie theater concessions counter. While at the cinema, you have to pay for tickets, food, and gas (if you got there by car). Sometimes you pay full price for the tickets, and other times you only cost half price to buy tickets. Also, what if you buy the ticket and end up being disappointed at movie. Unfortunately, you can’t refund it.
