I can understand clearly what I read or what I hear, but I am not fluent in speaking English. I never speak fluently in English and I realize it when I went to SPH. Coming from Santa Laurensia, SPH English is way more difficult and are very focused as the must learn curriculum. In Laurensia, the English is still basic and very easy, which is why I can get good score and most of the presentation is using Indonesian. Whenever I listen to something in another language, it always took me some times for me to understand it as I need to rearrange the words from English to Indonesian first, so that I can understand it easily. When I went to SPH, I realized that I still have a long to go in learning English, the way I speak is not fluent at all and I need to improve as SPH is an international school and all of the school program is using English. Afraid that I will have the same fate as my parents, they quickly moved me from Santa Laurensia to SPH to improve my English, so that I have a better chance to go to school in another country. After going to SPH, my English had improved and I am starting to be able to talk casually using English and I do not need to rearrange the words to Indonesian in my head anymore as I can understand it right
Conversely, I decided to do further research on the author and I watch the video of her speaking and the way she conversed they language that she used is displayed in the book. Very

They also gain an understanding of that period in time, how people were treated during that period in time and what went on during that period of time. When reading a novel it is more enjoyable to read than reading a factual report or article. It has been proven that if you find something enjoyable you learn and understand the topic better and in more detail compared to if you don’t enjoy what you’re doing. From my own experiences I can relate to the evidence.
Books opened my eyes to enthralling revelations at a young age. They gave me solace in my times of worry and melancholy. Especially where the lost protagonist overcame her obstacles and fought her fears. I could always relate to such struggles. I understood what it meant to feel diminutive and powerless.
During summer while other kids were outside having fun, i was indoors with my AC on reading different kind of books because of a soccer injury i had. If it wasn 't for that injury i don 't think i would of ever gotten a book on my own. It all started with an injury to a book that became the book that kept me going to find more books to read. The book is called " A Child Called It: One Child 's Courage to Survive" by David Pelzer. Before this i thought all books were boring but this one totally changed my mind.
Doctor Seuss once said: "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." To paraphrase the quote, it is saying that books are the perfect source of knowledge and they open up many doors in the future. People who read books are constantly enhancing their vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking skills. When reading, individuals are exposed to new ideas, concepts, and perspectives that can broaden their understanding of the world and improve their ability to analyze complex issues.

We all have read a book at some point in our lifetime. Some books we loved and even reread many times, and others - well let’s just say did not even finish. Have you ever wonder why it is that a certain book caught your attention? Are you curious why you enjoyed the book so much? Have you ever thought why the author wrote the book or why the book was organized and developed the way it was?
Today the books that always manage to get my attention are usually the books based on true events. My earliest memory of being read to isn’t necessarily being read to by my parents but being read to by teachers. Both my parents were always working, so they never had time to read to me. I didn’t have any older siblings to help me so when I started school, it was the first time I was exposed to reading.
The United States is a place of freedom. We are a mixing pot that unifies as one. Many religions, cultures, and languages make their home in the Unites States. Many foreigners see the U.S. as an opportunity to seek better lives and education, but when it comes to foreigners and native-born non-English speakers that do not yet know English, it becomes a little more difficult to go about an average day let alone make a better future. Children in school often become English Language Learners, or ELL, to assimilate to the American standards.
Overcoming my Obstacles Obstacle--a word that most people in the world do not want to mention, but all of us have to face them every day in our lives. Some people have to face physical hardships, but others have to face spiritual difficulties. Overcoming these obstacles is very important for people to have a good life. Everyone has a personal way to overcome their obstructions, and each way has a particular lesson to teach us.
