One fourth of the way around the world, away from Darfur is a similar problem concerning the Hmongs. Hmongs have resided in southern Asia for ages. They have done many great and if America wins, they would be responsible of building schools and sending teachers over to educate the Hmongs’ way of living. If America loses the war in Vietnam, Americans promised to welcome Hmong people over to America to escape any further harm or problems. Not many people know about this promise, but Hmong parents remind their kids everyday that if their children were to go to school and have racial discrimination against their language or culture, their children should remember the great things they did for America and challenge the saying that Hmongs should return to their homeland.
Being the second generation of a Hmong American caused complexities. Home consisted of strict traditional Hmong rules. Outside of home was an expression of freedom of the American life. Both have its own diversity. Balancing both felt as though sacrifices should be made.

Had a conversation with some associates who wanted my input on what I was told as a recent issue in regard to the bashing of the “ Hmong men and the Hmong Culture.” So I’m going to write it down here for those individuals to read. I could care less about how you feel. first: there is nothing wrong with dating or marrying someone outside your own ethnic group.
The Mingo were a highly developed culture and though displaced by Europeans, they have retained many of their customs and beliefs. This Native American tribe continues to show many aspects of its ancestry through daily practices and its religious and social structures even with European influence and displacement to reservations. A part of everyday life for Mingo Indians was the clothes that they wore. The men of the tribe wore breechcloths with leggings, and the women of the tribe usually wore kilts, wore wraparound skirts, short leggings, and overdresses.
Imagine someone going up to you and saying " hey American person", even though the fact may be that you don 't wan to be called that. Each and every Native groups have their own history, culture, and way of life. It isn 't fair to call and label every ethnic Native group as simply Native Americans. Their are hundreds of different Native ethnic groups out there, with competly differnt lifestyles.

As sociologists define race and ethnicity, there is a distinction between race and ethnicity. Race is inherent and we cannot change it, but ethnicity needs to depend on individual preferences and people can classify ethnicities. Sociologists define races as social category by biological traits, included Asian who is a group of original people from Asia and White who is a group of original people from Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. On the other hand, ethnicity is another social category by common language, religion, nationality, history, or another cultural factory. For instance, Chinese and Japanese are same race, but these two categories of people are different ethnicity.
The traditional definition of race and ethnicity is associated to biological and sociological influences correspondingly. “Race is arbitrary manner of subdividing the species Homo sapiens sapiens based on differences in the frequency with which some genes occur among population” (Perry & Perry, 2009, p.224). A person's physical features, including their bone structure, skin, hair, eye color, or tendency to develop a particular disease are used to describe his or her race. An example of race is African American or Caucasian. “Ethnicity is a group’s distinctive social, rather than biological, traits” (Perry & Perry, 2009, p.224).
