When my mind goes back to the day I walked across that stage for graduation. I can still remember how nervous I was, and not to mention I was eight months pregnant. I sat there thinking, I would never be able to get my life back on track. Honestly, I can say these past two years of my life have been a learning experience. After two years of sitting, I finally decided I was ready to go back to school. I chose to attend Strayer University because, they have an awesome online program, I want to have a business career, and I want to provide a better life for my family. I knew this was great decision when I found out they had an online program. I need a school that can fit around my day to day schedule, so taking online courses was perfect. I have a full-time job and a family to tend to, so I needed a school that could be flexible with me. I can do my school work while tending to my family and that motivates me day by day. I love the fact that with an online program you can log in and complete your assignments at any time of the day, and I wouldn’t have to worry about being late or not completing an assignment on time. Strayer’s online program was a great motivation for me to go back to school. …show more content…
Its honestly hard in today’s society to find a job with or without a degree, but I know with this degree I can provide a stable career for myself. When I decided to get this degree one of my main things was to be able to have a stable career owning my own business. By getting this degree, I will be able to accomplish my career goal of opening my own adult daycare and provide stability for not only myself but for my family. A career is something most people strive for their whole life and I just want to be able to say I did it and didn’t give up on my dream. I know going back to school was the best decision to head for a stable
Congratulations, you have the unwavering commitment to go back to school. That degree is on the horizon and you’re willing to devote a great deal of time to studying but your
Every year during the back-to-college season, millions of students across the US purchase countless school supplies for their upcoming semesters. How each student does their shopping is different, with many doing more traditional in-store shopping, and others getting their supplies through newer e-commerce channels using company’s websites. One of the biggest issues back-to-school vendors such as Target face today is competing against online retail giants like Amazon, especially when back-to-school and office supplies is one of Target’s smaller revenue segments. As a result, our goal is to help Target drive these back-to-school sales up, as well as create incentives to bring students back in-store as opposed to going on competitors’ online
Something such as returning back to school was long gone and in my past goals. After a couple of years I never thought I would end up going back to school since everything that I wanted was going good and according to plan. However sometimes we are faced with tough situations where we must find other resources in order to improve and better ourselves. Going back to school was one of the most important and wise decisions that I have ever made. Finding well-qualified candidates for a job or career nowadays is a challenge, especially in the field that I am currently in; law enforcement.
The decision to attend college immediately after high school is one of the many challenges high schoolers face upon graduating. There are several reasons why that attending college promptly after graduation is a good idea. It is more beneficial than waiting because one will already have the drive to continue on with school rather than waiting, one will also graduate sooner which in turn will result in better job opportunities, and one is more likely to apply one’s high school knowledge. By attending college immediately after high school, one is more like to continue with one’s momentum. If one stops and waits to return to school, one would lose that drive to challenge that higher education.
Finding motivation to attend college is easy, keeping the motivation to finish is the difficult part. I decided to enroll in college to earn my Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Finance. I hope that the degree will give me the opportunity to apply for a better position within the organization that I currently work for. A secondary goal of returning to school is to demonstrate to my son that attending college is required for many jobs and that returning to school as an adult has various difficult challenges. I have been working for the past nine years as an Assistant Financial Officer and am highly competent at my job.
A rising issue in today’s society is deciding whether or not college is worth the cost. There is an extreme amount of pressure that is forced upon high school students by parents, teachers, and peers to further their education and attend college. However, there is research that challenges the thought that college is the best possible path for a person to take. College may be a great investment for some people, but it is not meant for everyone. This is supported by the arguments that colleges are expensive, jobs do not always require a college degree, and students are forced to choose a lifestyle before being exposed to the real world.
College , do you think this is necessary for students after high school? I say college is a great way for students to go further with education. This could help kids grow up, even help you have greater chances to a higher pay, and for college grads it's easier to be the one to get the job then someone who has just looks better. Going to college and graduating from college with a degree can get you higher paying jobs. This information from “actually, college is very much worth it”.
Many kids in this generation have grown up being told to get good grades in order to get a scholarship, which in turn allows them to go to college. Is college worth it? From my research I have concluded that college is in fact worth it. Although many college graduates end up having debt, key aspects such as wider range of opportunities, connections and higher pay add up to an overall conclusion supporting that college is in fact worth the cost. A major benefit of going to college is the amount of opportunity that arises from having a degree.
Children and adolescents are faced with developmental tasks at many points as they grow up, but there are a few stages in life when young people meet multiple challenges all at once. The transition from high school to college is one of those critical developmental periods. It is an exciting time that typically leads to considerable gains in maturity, but it is also a time during which many adolescents experience difficulties. This transition is an important event for families as well, because the family unit must navigate significant changes in relationships between family members. Again, although most families manage the transition well, it is quite common that they experience difficulties along the way.
August 14th, the day when it really hit me that I would be moving into college in one week. Up until that point I was really really excited! Although I was still excited the nerves started to kick in, I felt that I was not prepared to start a whole new chapter of my life and that there was still so many things that I needed to do, so honestly I started to panic a little bit, but that is just between me and you, no one else knew that I was stressing so bad. The Monday before move in day comes and now I realize that I seriously need to start getting ready, so finally I start packing everything in my room to make sure that I do not forget anything, but at the same time I have no clue what to pack seeing as this is my first time ever packing for college. The day finally gets here, move in day, all at the same time I am nervous, excited, sad and happy.
What happens when you go to college for a completely different job than the one you are applying for? How do you gain the experience you need to compete in the finance industry? In my case, I went to school to become a Social Studies teacher. However, I spent a few years looking for a teaching job.
Have you ever felt uncomfortable, nervous, and confused ? These are all the things I felt moving to a new school. I had no idea if I would gain friends or if anyone would like me. Maybe if I had a tour around the new school before my first day I would have not been so disorientated. Going from a one story school to a two story school was hard, having to look down every five seconds to make sure I was on the right hall, or if I was suppose to be upstairs or downstairs.
The transition from Primary school to Post-Primary school is a difficult time for anyone involved. It is one of the most drastic changes that students will ever encounter in the educational career. The transition is typically filled with anticipation and anxiety about homework, teachers, peers, academic rigor, school rules, getting lost, and many more factors. For the typical student, it is a whirlwind of emotion and anxiety. For students with special needs, these worries become even more prominent for the pupils and their parents.
Along the line, I had a change of mind and this time around decided to stay on campus. My going to college has made me good about my language barrier, being in college I was able to develop interpersonal relationships with other ethnic groups, and going to college has made me explore in a different part of the continents. Thinking back, I can remember some basis why I chose to go to college. To start with, my proceeding to college has helped me to break down the conversation among people and knowing most culture from different colonies. Since English is
Seventy-seven percent of workers with a postgraduate degree and 60% of workers with a Bachelor’s degree believe their job gives them a sense of identity, versus just 38% of those with a high school diploma. (Brady) Going to College is so beneficial to your future life, that you wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to miss this valuable option. Sue:
