Recently I have been scrolling through my social media and all I have been seeing is New Year new me trend. Every year somebody has posted it and I haven’t seen anyone change, people don’t follow up with the quote or rule it hasn’t been one year people say “new year new me “ but why post on social media about it? Why not just go ahead and change before the New Year instead of waiting to change. But I will change on how I do things and how I handle things before the year starts and work on things in 2018.
My first goal in this New Year is to be more respectful and more honest to my teachers in 2017 this was a hard thing for me to do, I don’t have nothing against teachers at all but if I feel like I’m not learning enough I take it out on them but it’s really me because I need to start studying for my test so I can get good grades on them. I don’t mean anything I say when I’m mad I just have it control my anger when I’m upset and do my work. In 2017

I actually want to prove to all the people that didn’t think I wasn’t going to make it, I have to take school more serious if I want the job I want I can’t walk in college not knowing anything from high school, I know college is more changeling for people depending on which class you take or what you want to be. Some people want to do easier things but I want to be a physical therapist and I need to focus on all the classes I take because they will all help me at the end I know it.
This wraps up all of my goals at the end of the school Semester I am confident that I will reach all of my goals if I do what I’m supposed to and stay out of trouble and I think it will all work out for me. I’m going to be working very hard and I’m going to treat all my teachers how they treat

Since being enrolled in college I have been able to maintain a grade point average of a 3.4 or better for the two semesters that I have attended. Through the ups and downs that came with each semester, I have learned the value of putting in hard work and what it takes to achieve something one desires. Additionally, my academic performance has earned me spots in both the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society and the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society. Furthermore, this summer I was able to intern with a pipeline design company, EN Engineering.
My reason to attend Penn State University, Abington, in the fall of 2016 was based on the opportunity that was given to me to explore the area around Philadelphia and to transfer to Penn State University, University Park, within the next two years. Even though I stressed about studying SAT and ACT, writing college admission essays, and balancing my school work at the same time, I was not excited about going to a college as much as my peers and friends were. For me, college was simply an extension of a high school, and it is something I regret and wish to change. I wish I was excited about going to a college, brainstorming creative ideas for my essay to be liked by college administrators and crying for joy that I am going somewhere where I can pursue my dream. Unfortunately, I did not even know what
Throughout high school I have tried to take classes that were not only challenging, but would also be relevant to my future. I have taken nine AP level classes since sophomore year, and I have thrived in the difficult coursework that is meant to be college level. So far, I have proven my hard work and dedication by passing all of the AP tests thus far. I have also taken advantage of the advanced math coursework that is two years ahead than normal. I began this track since the fifth grade, and I continued and progressed all these year.

As many struggles you are going to face it is going to pay off in the end. College teaches you more than just things about your major, it teaches you quality life skills. There are so many people in this world that don’t even get a job that their major is associated with and I think just going through college in general teaches you life skills you can use in the future. Not only did I get to meet my teacher in person, I was also able to learn more about her. I learned from her that there are many teachers out here that actually care about their students and want them to succeed in life.
Overall my struggles have changed my thought process from i can do this to i must do this and I will. I made sure to start this semester off on the right foot by planning by days out better, avoiding distractions, and not taking on more responsibilities than I can handle. I am focusing this semester on improving my GPA, because it is important to me to graduate above a 3.0 and do well in my classes. Everyday I think about that grade I received, but I won’t let it define me. I messed up, and there is no one else to blame. I know that at the end of this semester when I receive that improved GPA, I can look back at how hard I’ve worked and revel in the pride while looking forward to my continuing success at UW
